With my newly found motivation, I continued with my Weight Watcher activity plan on Thursday. I did about 20 mins. of a "body sculpting" workout that is part of my 6 week plan. I don't enjoy strength training, floor exercises, etc. and I didn't really like this either. It was surprisingly hard (since there really weren't many reps) and I also added in a few other exercises with weights. I have to do this again tomorrow, but I'm thinking about doing my Coach Nicole body sculpting DVD (which I actually enjoyed).
However, I'll have to figure out a time to do it since I no longer have a DVD player in my bedroom. DH is putting down new flooring in the basement, so the den has been occupied with teenagers since they can't go downstairs to watch TV or play video games until the basement is finished. He's actually putting down laminate (looks like hardwood) over the carpet padding, so it has a 'spring" to it. DD#2 is going to do her "jumping" workouts down there and I'm going to set up a space to do DVD's etc. It will be a nice area when he's done. In the meantime, I'll just have to make do, because I need to do this at least 2 times a week.
I finally got my haircut on Friday after work. DH waited for me to get home to go to the park. He's been working so much and hasn't been able to run, so he wanted to start back Friday (of course he did great!). DD#2 went to a baseball game, so DD#3 and I took the dog & puppy for a walk on the greenway. It was a nice 45 min. walk and I did get in a few "bursts" of running. Once the puppy gets older, she'll do better on the leash and we won't be able to keep up with her, but right now she likes to stop too much.
It was Pi Day, so of course DH got pie! I had a small sliver of a blueberry & chocolate cream (equaled 1 slice) and I tracked it. So, I was doing ok Friday with points.
I'm guessing the pie was just too sweet because I had a hard time falling asleep Friday night. DD#2 came in our room about 1:30 am and said the puppy "pooped" in her crate. I had to help her clean it up and then she woke me up again at 3:30. The puppy had diarrhea. I couldn't go back to sleep because I was concerned about the puppy.
I finally fell asleep about 5:00 and then we got a phone call @ 5:30! The sheriff's department was calling (a recording) that there was a "robbery suspect in our area and to stay in our homes and to call 911 if we saw anything suspicious".
Of course I went into a panic and was upset because DH was leaving for work. I also had to call my parents (who live on the property with us) and that was stressful because my mother can't hear and I was trying to explain what was going on (they apparently didn't hear the call from the sheriff's department).
I sat on the couch for the next couple of hours worrying because it was dark and the police helicopters were flying over. At least the puppy was ok at that point. It turns out there was a robbery about 10 miles away and the "suspects" went back to their house (which is about 3 miles from my house). They arrested 2, but one got away into the woods and that started the manhunt.
Apparently they had him "cornered", but he got away (again). The 2nd call we got from the sheriff's office (about 9:30 am) was that he was "armed & dangerous" and for everyone to stay in their house. I was supposed to meet my niece to get my great-nephew (GN) for the day, but I couldn't leave at that point.
Long story short (too late!), he was never apprehended and they called off the "SWAT standoff" around noon - thinking he was no longer in the area. My niece ended up bringing GN to our house. I was so tired, but I had promised I would keep him.
Between keeping up with GN and the puppy, I hardly ate anything on Saturday. We didn't go to the park (still concerned about "armed robber"), but I walked GN and puppy around the property a lot. By the time we dropped GN off at my sister's house (his grandmother) where he was spending the night and got back home, I was exhausted. I didn't even eat any dinner and was in bed by 9 pm. Of course at 9:30 pm, we got another call from the sheriff's department that the "suspect was still at large" - thanks for the update! BTW, he still hasn't been caught!
We all had a good night's sleep though and the puppy didn't have any more accidents. I was still pretty tired on Sunday and it was raining, so I spent most of the morning lounging around on the couch (and overeating!). I also had a piece of key lime pie (which I don't even like) later that day, so that and the other stuff I ate on Sunday (and nerves from the weekend) upset my stomach. Think someone is trying to tell me to stop eating pie?! I ended up not going to church on Sunday evening and not doing any exercise.
DD#2 had to take the puppy out a couple more times last night and the dog woke me up too, so I didn't get a good night's sleep last night. We have a vet appointment tomorrow for the puppy (to get the rest of her shots), so we'll check on her stomach problems - she tends to eat anything off the floor/ground. Her appetite is still good and she's definitely not lethargic, so hopefully it's just something she ate and it working it out of her system.
Anyway, I ate my oatmeal for breakfast, packed my lunch, walked the dog & puppy this morning, so I'm back on routine after my strange weekend.
