Lost 197 POUNDS to date..... 2 years later.....

Monday, March 17, 2014

I have worked hard on weight loss.

I began nearly 2 years ago: I began by eating a 1600 calorie diet. I also began exercising a little.... beginning with 30 minutes at the gym. I worked my way up from burning off 200 calories to 1700 calories daily.

What I have learned to date is that, yes; I certainly can go to the gym every morning and burn off that 1700 calories but some days, it was like TORTURE! I also didn't feel good physically. I'm still working on that!

However, I was eating only 1200 calories and burning off 1700 -- I felt STARVED! That's when I would binge-eat. So for months, the scale has been up and down, depending on what I would binge-eat on!

I have amended my diet and exercise program. I have begun to strength-train and am today, only burning off 500 calories while eating 1700 calories daily. I don't know how this is all going to work out?

What is interesting is that there are so many diet plans out there that I am simply CONFUSED as of what to do. And my doctor? Is of absolutely NO HELP! I also have discovered that doctors do not have the training in diet and how it affects how I might feel physically. Something is wrong with that!

In any case, it has left me searching for answers ......

Might I suggest what worked for me?

Go up to Start - and do the Spark Program.

Set your Nutrition Tracker & Fitness Tracker to work together.

Tracking made all the difference for me and is still doing it.

I'm happy you have done so well. Richard Bernstein M.D. in his book "The Diabetes Solution" says ALL obese people are Insulin Resistant and can benefit from taking Metformin, no matter what their "test" shows for blood sugar. He has great lectures on YouTube. He has had Type 1 diabetes since he was 12 and he is a healthy 78, as he follows a very low carb diet. (He was told he wouldn't live pass 42). He sees mostly Type 2 diabetics in his practice as he still works full time.
Dr. Atkins said that no one ever binges on Hard Boiled Eggs, but it is ALWAYS about having carbs, such as eating a chocolate cake or a gallon of ice cream. He said to have a dozen hard boiled eggs in the frig and the next time you want to do a binge, start by eating them. He swore no one would get down more than 10, since no one binges on protein.
I'm glad u have done so well so far. Happy St. Patrick's Day. emoticon

I'm inspired by your weight loss. Have you tried a nutritionist? You might get the answers you are looking for.
