I see a lot of blog titles like this and it gave me the idea to do something for myself. Yesterday I read a thread on the message boards about the snowball effect of eating 'bad' or 'off-track' and how, so often, one bad thing leads to another. And someone commented that one 'good' thing can also have the snowball effect. So ........... as I have been definitely snowballing down the 'bad' route lately, I thought I'd give the 'good' route a try!
So - 1GT = 1 Good Thing - and I'll blog in a kind of streak-like way! I find the tick-box streaks pretty un-motivating because there's no consequence of achieving or not achieving - you just look at it.
So here goes - 1 Good Thing each day - and it can be a really small thing - and I'm looking for a snowball effect. I am also thinking this will help raise my own self-esteem - because I'm a bit (very) down on myself at the moment for slipping back into 'bad' routines which leave me feeling fat, frumpy, feeble and miserable.
I went to a friend's house yesterday afternoon - she and her husband are both fit and slim. She put a little box of hand-made cookies on the table - and they were a source of absolute agony and misery for me - because I could see that she could eat just one and then leave them - to me they were just dangerous until they were all gone :( I had at least 4 times the amount she had :( I really hate that about myself - it makes me feel so unhappy.
I have a week off from work now (vacation) - and have already allowed the week to get a bit filled up with other 'obligations' - silly me! However, I have mapped out the week - and made a plan of how I am going to achieve things I want to achieve.
From now on in I shall aim to do a post each day of my 1GT. I will aim for 100 days. I'll post the 1GT at the top of the blog - then if I need to talk (like I do today!) then it gives people the choice to read the rest, or just the daily Good Thing.
