Now, the moment you've all been waiting for... Wait! What?! You mean no one has been waiting for this?! Wow, well this is awkward now! *DOH* emoticon emoticon Well anyways, the moment that *I* have been waiting for. It's almost time to streak!



I am so excited about this! I had an awesome group join me last month for a 14 day streak! The best part was, everyone's streak was different. They thought about what they needed to focus on and they put their plans in motion! Some people are doing so well, they might even still be streaking! I know the point of the streak is not to break it, to have it be a set amount of time with no mess ups, that is the point of the streak. With that said, I make mistakes and mess up ALL THE TIME. I strive for progress not perfection... if I was striving for perfection, I would have given up a long long time ago. emoticon With that said, I think if we set out to do something for 14 days, and we fall short, maybe we did 9 or 10 days (maybe even less).... we are still successful because we are trying something! 9 good days is way better than 0-1 good days! So with that in mind, let's do what we can and push ourselves! If we fall down, we will dust ourselves off and keep on going!

So are you ready to streak?! The goal here is to do a 14 day streak the last 14 days of a given month. So for March our streak will run March 18th - 31st. That gives you a day to think about what you want to work on that needs improvement, or maybe a good habit that you have been doing that you want to keep up with! The possibilities are endless. So comment below and let us all know what you are going to do for your streak. I will post a blog on the 1st with my results, and more importantly I hope you will share your results! emoticon

My streak has been brought to you by awesome Sparker NANCYTUNBERG64! She shared with me that she would be cutting sodium for her streak, and I had to hop on board! That was such a fabulous idea, and I wouldn't have thought of it on my own. emoticon I have been over my sodium allotment FOREVER! If there is a day where I was in range for sodium, it was probably a day I didn't eat much because I was sick ha ha! I am just looking to be "in range" so anything under 2300mg is going to count! I will say that I am going out to a very late B-Day dinner on the 29th, and that will definitely be an "over sodium" day... but it is planned, accounted for, and I am going to do my best to get 13/14 days!

emoticon I am also tacking on an extra habit kicker for my streak... to kick the diet soda habit! Diet Orange Sunkist and Diet Dr. Pepper being on my list of favorites. I don't drink soda when I'm out to eat, just at home. So if I stop bringing it into the house, that solves the problem, right? emoticon So it may not be THAT easy to do, but I am on day 2 of the no diet soda thing, so wish me luck! emoticon

    This blog turned on the light bulb in my head and I set the goals of no soda and 8 cups of water a day. Since the day I made that pledge to myself 8 days ago, I have held fast and not had a drop of soda. For 7 of the 8, I drank the water ----even drinking 10 cups today and the day before yesterday. But yesterday I only got 7 cups down.

Before reading this blog, I would have given up with that one short coming. But this concept just clicked with me and while I fell short one cup yesterday, I will not put myself down and let this develop into a full collapse. I just made certain to make up for it today and I continue to see how many days in this two week period that I can be on or above target.

    I haven't had a diet soda (or any soda) since October and I feel 100% better. You will be amazed at how much you won't miss it when you've broken the habit.
I'm a couple of days late but my streak also needs to be to stay in control after work while cooking dinner.

    Because I do not cook, and eat mostly processed foods, I am always over on my sodium count also. But I'm working on it, trying to eat more fruit, veggies, unsalted nuts, etc.

    I drank diet soda for years and noticed about a year ago that afterwords my throat would burn something aweful - like I had a sore or something - I finally figured it out that it was the soda that was the problem so I pretty much went cold turkey and haven't had a problem since. I do have a diet drink every once in a while less than once a week but I no longer crave it and my throat no longer burns - a win win - lol

    Great idea! I gave up diet soda about a month ago. I have stopped craving it now. Diet soda is high in sodium so that may be a helpful incentive to give it up. I plan on tracking my food and exercise for 14 days straight thanks to you! Thank you!

    Hi! This is a great idea!
I just started my 100 day streak this afternoon. I will keep a positive journal of all the good things in my life. Things I am grateful for, things that make me smile, just things that make me happy. Like today, someone on spark people friend-ed me, and I didn't expect it! It's the little things! Plus I hope to look back at this when I am (hope, hope) 90 and be able to remember all the joys of my life! All the best to you!

    I love the idea of an individual streak for 14 days. I'm really trying to exercise consistently, so that will be my streak, I will exercise at least 30 minutes every day until April 1. Good luck, everyone, and see you on April Fools Day! emoticon

    I've planned to do 100 straight row days of exercise. I think I'm on day 24. I'm not even halfway through, I know!! But I haven't quit.
Everyone around here is sick though. Barring me getting ill I think I will make it. Even if I don't, I will probably have a cool number that is better than 7 (usually I took 1-2 days off a week from exercise)

    Steph, you are an amazing person! Thank you for that. I am going to be focusing on not drinking anything but water and hot tea. I am also going to focus on getting in at least a 1/2 hour of some type of workout every day.
