Natural Healthy Doggie Biscuits

Sunday, March 16, 2014

Here is a recipe that your dog will love! It is natural, healthy and can be altered to your pet's personal liking! My dog Fraulein loves them. And you can nibble on them too because there is nothing weird in them!

Fraulein's Favorite Doggie Biscuits:

1 3/4 cup whole wheat flour, or whatever you prefer
1 Tbsp vegetable or oil of choice (I usually use Safflower or Coconut)
1 cup water
1 3/4 cup oatmeal
1 Tbsp wheat germ
1 Tbsp ground flaxseed (optional)

Optional Ingredients:
To repel fleas add 1 - 2 Tbsp brewers yeast. Fleas won't eat blood containing brewers yeast.

For better dog breath add some fresh or dried mint.

For taste add 1/4 cup peanut butter or fresh/frozen fruit. Fraulein (my dog) LOVES blackberries added to hers!

Preheat oven to 300 degrees F. Mix dry ingredients together and then pour in oil and water. Mix well until dough is firm. Roll dough out on a floured surface and cut into shapes. I use biscuit cutters but fun cookie cutter shapes would be awesome too.

Grease a cookie sheet and transfer the doggie biscuits to cookie sheet. Bake for 30-40 minutes or until biscuits are golden brown. Cool. Store leftovers in airtight container in a cool place.

This is a healthy and natural treat for your dog that is super cheap to make, unlike the treats you buy at the store full of weird and unnatural chemicals.

I make something very similar for my little fur baby! He definitely prefers peanut butter!

My GF used to make dog biscuits and such for her dog. Much better than commercial stuff which is often tainted now.
