Hope and a 5K

I signed up for my first ever 5K. It is three weeks away and gives me something to look at besides the scale. I may not be able to run the whole thing, but I will finish it. It is a trail run through The Woodlands, TX AND they're going to have a crawfish boil. Just the crawfish would've brought me! Although I will eat a reasonable amount. Last time I went to a crawfish boil (before Sparkpeople) I downed six pounds of meat at one sitting. Not proud--just saying.
But about the running: I am looking forward to this because if I like it, it will open up so many more events for me, not just charity walks but longer events. And I do like to run. Even if my knees give me a twinge once in awhile, maybe more squats will strengthen them. I'll just be really really careful.
Anyway I'm really excited about this and I will be training for it.

    Great!! emoticon Sounds fun, and I've never had crawfish, so I'm embarrassed to admit I'm not 100% sure what they are... but if they get you to a 5K that's awesome.

    That sounds awesome (except for maybe the crawfish boil... obviously I've never tried it, but ...). I'm sure you're going to do an amazing job!!! I am actually jealous :) However, I will still be rooting for you!
