The Satisfaction of Sureness (2014 - Blog #73)

Saturday, March 15, 2014

"Know well what leads you forward and what hold you back, and choose the path that leads to wisdom."

Several times today I knew what decisions I needed to make. There was a certain "sureness" that I felt in a few health decisions I made.

Instead of a latté, I just drove on by. Smiled as I realized I was craving calm not coffee.
Instead of a big dinner when I went out with DD, I was conscious of my eating. Enjoyed every bite in moderation.
Instead of skipping the gym because it was 30 minutes to closing time, I went in anyways and had an intense short work out. I came home with EXTRA energy!

I think my derailment was a positive thing. The Derailment Crew stuck with me today, kind of supervising my choices and cheering me on each time I made a decision that moved me forward. I visualized them several times.... knowing that they want me to succeed.

My energy when I got home was as much mental as it was physical. The pure satisfaction of doing what I knew I benefited from doing is energizing.

This weekend will be the same. I have a long ride tomorrow. Then Sunday I have the Shamrock Run. Doing the 8K with a few friends who have new done it before. I plan on some more good moves... getting firmly placed back on the track with the Derailment Crew holding up the directional signs all pointing to my success. Sureness breeds Satisfaction.

Have a super weekend all... Enjoy the tiny signs of spring (I hope!)

I'm with you. It is far better to squeeze in a few minutes of something rather than just let a day slide by. It keeps the momentum going. I have not once regretted squeezing in 10 or 20 minutes of something.
