Day Two of the 100 (fun) Days until Summer

Friday, March 14, 2014

Only 99 days until summer folks!!

Yesterday was a long one and the joy of writing these blogs will be weighed against the pressure to put them out in a timely fashion. My day two has been busy and the clock is ticking, so let me get this out there...

My SP Friend RRUDEPARANORMAL does Spark Blog streaks and I adopted the idea from her. She is a night owl though. Many a morning when I’m up at 5:30am, one of the first things on my friend feed is her blog notification with a time indication saying something like “Posted 3 hours ago."

You go girl!

Me? I love to fall asleep early and get up early. It all works out in the end.

BTW, Renae also has a Website called "The Paranormalist" which is quite creepy and cool. Check it out if you think creepy and cool are fun like I do!

And on to having fun whilst pursuing healthy means to a healthy end (or rear end as the case may be...)

Yesterday was long, eventful and pleasurable in many ways.

My food for lunch was really yummy: Shiritaki noodles with some left over beef and red wine sauce. If you want to know more about these low carb/low calorie noodles see:

le.htm

Here is a picture of the noodles, 4.5 ounces of beef and a chunk of laughing cow cheese before I mixed the whole mess up. I also added some chopped red pepper to the bowl which added some nice crunch for less than 400 calories.

There is really nothing in this picture to tell you how good it was, but then the noodles are pretty tasteless and I make one heck of a good eye of round in red wine sauce, so I'll take full credit for the yummy factor.

My fitness got off to a good start with a quick walk in the neighborhood with my dogs while enjoying a new song I discovered by the group “American Authors”

It’s called “The Best Day of My Life”

Check it out:

Super, super fun song!!

I intended blast this song in my car as I drove to the gym, but just before I was about to leave, I hear:

“Mom, can we go driving in the neighborhood.”

My middle daughter was asking to go and drive for the second time in her life.

I glance at the clock. Only 5:30pm. “Sure honey.”

Fast forward to 6 o'clock as we are stopped with the front end of my mini van kissing a neighbor’s brick mail box.

Don’t even ask me how it happened. It just did.

Several hours later, information exchanged with said neighbor and daughter (and husband) sufficiently soothed, I find myself with only 5,000 or so steps on my Spark Tracker and it’s 8:30 and I’m tired and cranky. I am in no mood to go to the gym at this point, so I put the Big Bang Theory on the tube and hula hoop in front of the TV for a total of 5000 plus steps.

And this activity was relatively soothing and fun after a harried evening. One can not remain distraught while hula hooping.

Note the cool power posing you can do while hooping also. I needed some power posing last night.

How do you translate hooping into steps?

Well, I attach my Spark Tracker to the waist of my pants and then proceed to hoop for increments of 15-20+ minutes. I have a weighted hoop which I think helps me going and going....

For that activity, my Tracker awards a “general workout” classification and a certain number of steps associated with it. I don’t really care how the numbers are assigned - they just are….I just hooped until I hit 10,000 plus steps according to the Spark Tracker.

I then meditated before I went to sleep.

So…

Day One DONE!

Today is busy (what with getting estimates on repairs and all!) but I did get to the gym first thing this morning (without incident) so big win for me!

I’ll let you know what other fun things I’ve gotten into tomorrow….

XOXO

So glad you have decided to join IOWL and explore the "inner issues" that stop us from making the "outer transformations" that we desire.

Be sure to introduce yourself and let me know if you need any help accessing the podcast resources.

Take care and be well!

-Michelle

Ah the driving lesson days...you are braver than I am I bought my son driving lessons for his 16th birthday...lol Here in BC we have graduated licensing, a learners permit for a year a driving test then a novice license for two years and then another test. During the novice time there is a limit to the passengers you can carry and requires stricter adherence to road laws.

Thanks for the links

I love the Paranormalist Blog - Renae is doing many things to show people how to take normal routine and make it both "paranormal" and better. And that's in addition to all the lovely creepy crawly things she talks about, like Zombie Run!

I've eaten shirataki noodles and they must be an acquired taste because even with a very good sauce (and I make a couple of great sauces) I can't eat them. I'll take the added calories with squash if I get to hankering for pasta...

I have a wonderful hoola hoop - it's great fun!!

Won't ask how the "kissing incident" happened. Just passing on huge hugs. What a bugger!

Hula Hooping . . . you're right . . . can't be distraught while hula hooping. Just doesn't work.

What a day!! They don't all have to be that exhausting, do they?

The daily blogging isn't bad if you don't worry too much about it ... take that list of the check-offs you've got and make that the minimum post for any given day. You'll probably end up wanting to elaborate on at least one of those, and the whole thing can be quick. When you've got more energy and time, write about multiple points and/or go off in an additional direction. Heck, I did it last night half-looped :D

Thank you for the shout out ... "creepy & cool" is music to my ears.

PS Listening to the song now ... it is fun. GREAT walking tune.
