I'm Happy to be Back!!

Thursday, March 13, 2014

I had a good time on my vacation, but I'm very happy to be back home. My son-in-law is now a Warrant Officer in the La. National Guard. We (husband, daughter, granddaughter) left Monday to go to his graduation. FYI: It's challenging to drive across 2 states with a 2 year old!!! She was very good, but got restless, of course, so we had to stop often. My husband and I came back last night. They took their time driving back. AND, I weighed this morning, just knowing that I'd gained 40 lbs in the 3 days that I was gone. I had LOST 1 pound...My lowest ever. Maybe my yoyo streak of losing/gaining/losing has ended. I'm finishing up the 5% challenge. My goal was to lose 10 pounds. Let's just say I didn't quite make it--only ONE pound...Hey, but that's one pound, so I'm happy. I stayed the course. I can see major differences, just not on the scale. Can you believe it??? I actually walked all over the graduation building (a big military museum) and I did NOT use my walker!!! Most of the time, my balance is so bad in large, open spaces. That is a MAJOR accomplishment! That's even better than losing a pound.
