Being able to taste food

For me one of the advantages of healthy eating that I'm really enjoying is the ability to really taste food again. When I eat unhealthy only the sweetest food, the greasiest foods seem to have flavour but by ridding my system of those things I am back to being able to taste that fresh thyme as been added, or sitting down and eating a sandwich and being able to taste all of the components. The multigrain bread, the grilled tomatoes, etc.
In the past cooking was something I really enjoyed and I've made my way back there. My herbs are growing in my kitchen again, there are baskets of fresh fruit waiting and the crispers are full of an assortment of brightly coloured veggies.
I know that the next thirty pounds will be harder than the first but I'm excited about making it happen. I've set up plans for plateaus, special dates with my husband that will get us out exercising and at the end I get a weekend shopping trip with my daughter to Oregon. One pound down....29 more to go.
