Book on Handling Change

Wednesday, March 12, 2014

Lots to catch up on at work today, had it under control by 3. I felt really slow mid-afternoon, but otherwise pretty good. For the first time, I got rained out; no walk, so I read a homework book.

Highly recommend for anyone in an organization undergoing change: "Our Iceberg Is Melting: Changing and Succeeding Under Any Conditions" by John Kotter of Harvard Business School, author of "Leading Change" and "The Heart of Change." Told as an allegory involving a penguin colony whose iceberg is discovered to be melting necessitating some unwelcome and dramatic changes. Illustrates the path to successful change and how various types of people--penguins?--react.

Yikes, there are sooooooo many corporations undergoing change. I never heard of that book but would be worth a read!

Like COLOR - BLUE I also like the Leslie Sansone walking videos! I have several and they really give you a good cardio workout. Hope you give them a try. We don't want rainy days to get in our way! LOL

emoticon you had your work under control by 3 PM. In the event that you get rained out again, and you don't see a way of getting a walk in, check out Leslie Sansone, she's the walking queen. I have about 5 of her DVDs and she just so excellent! She will whip you into shape. Don't cut your teeth on anything other than her Walk Away The Pounds. It's a good start, and when you master than, I'll give you another title to look for. I'll have to check the book out, even though I belong to God's organization and not man's, this should prove to be very interesting! Thanks for the hook up!

    Be blessed,
