1st session with personal trainer

Hubby and I joined a gym on Monday night. With the purchase of the membership, they included a session for each of us with a personal trainer. I met with him today and it was AWESOME! He spent about 25 minutes getting to know me and my journey. He then introduced me to some machines and gave me a personal workout.

I was so afraid he was going to tell me to stop walking away the pounds and do something else! But he said to continue what I was doing since it had worked so well for me in the past. He gave some suggestions on things he thought would help me going forward. It wasn't anything like I thought it was going to be. It was so much better!!

I am so excited for the 2nd phase of my weight loss journey!!

    No matter what happens in the next session, just remember to communicate who you are and what you need from them. As you know from SP, your goal is to find something you will have fun/otherwise be motivated to do. Walking rules, but weight training gets increasingly important as you age so it is important to learn how to do it safely. I'm so proud of you and also a little jealous, not just that you had fun with the trainer, but that you have such an awesome partner that you joined the gym together. I can't complain though. My husband doesn't go to the gym with me but he will buy anything I write on a list and drive all over town finding organic produce for me.

    So glad your trainer was helpful. It's good to know that there are trainers who truly want to help, not dictate, or give you a cookie-cutter program.

  Wait a minute! When I have a personal trainer session, she whips my butt all over the gym, makes me sweat buckets, and finds out which muscles she has not worn out in the past so that she can attack them. Your session was fun?? I am so jealous.
