Wednesday wintry day

Wednesday, March 12, 2014

It is a blizzard out there!! Very high winds, lots more snow.. We never did see our bare ground.. we still have about a foot of snow on the lawn; teh snow piles in my front yard are down to about six or seven feet high until they plow our road again... I can see the neighbor's house though!!

With these bitter cold temps our skin is like dried paper... I do not think I have ever used so much Curel, Lubriderm, bag balm,, blistex, etc!! I know my workplace is the main culprit besides walking outdoors.. my furnace has a humidifier on ita nd we drink a minimum of ten cups of brita water,PLUS a LOT of herbal decaf tea every day.
Has anyone else noticed drier skin this winter?

My skin is dry every winter. If I don't stay on top of it, my heels crack and bleed. We have a humidifier in the living room, but that's barely kept the moisture at dangerous lows.

I don't drink enough water, especially during the winter. I try, but it's hard.

we are getting more snow today too, but thankfully not as much as they called for so far, only 2-4 inches. they are calling for another 2-4 tonight and tomorrow though.

yes, i also have drier skin in the winter. i use baby oil though. i read that if you rub a little baby oil on your skin after your shower before you dry off, it soaks into your skin and seals in some of the moisture, then just pat dry to leave some of the oil and moisture on your skin. i find that it helps my skin a lot.

It's suppose to be in the lower 80's in central Calif. by this weekend. I don't know how the people in the East and Midwest can take the freezing temps.
