My husband put up a screen net over our pond to protect the fish from the predator birds that love the bay and rivers that surround us. On each post he put up bluebird boxes and waited awhile and the bluebirds came as did the wrens and song finches. They are quite chatty in the morning now. I sat out near our pond yesterday and hear a frog crocking already it was peaceful after my weeding
this is last summer this year I want to have some lily pads

I love Bluebirds, but we have to drive about 15 mins. or so to see them. I do have a lot of pretty birds in our yard though, so can't complain to much.

I like have birds in the yard. I let native grasses grow instead of that water hogging blue grass which is not native to Colorado regardless of how pretty it looks. My cats like looking at the birds in the yard.

I've had a small pond for years now and my water lilies bloom every year. I had water Hyacinths that would kill my fish so we got rid of them...seems they will grow so fast that anything else has a hard time blooming.
