Capilano Canyon is listed as a 8 km hike and easy.
Is this March - the sun is out and temperatures are about 11 to 14 cellulose and so it is time to do some hiking.
I have this book "Best Hikes and Walks of Southwestern British Columbia" and my goal is to hike as many of these hikes as possible in 2014 and it just happens that there are Geo caches on the trail I chose today.
This hike was listed as easy - OK it was easy but very long - Noni and Dalhouise and I started at Park Royal and walked all the way to the Capilano Lake and Cleveland Dam and over to the hatchery and then back to the parked car. I missed I think only three in this series - #1 was skipped and when I walked by it on the return trip - Noni was too sore and only wanted to reach the car so no stopping was allowed for me to look and numbers 10 and 17 could not be found.
I wonder how we will feel tomorrow???
I noticed that even little Dalhouise is limping - I am a little sore and Noni is suffering with every step she takes. But learned my lesson about water -- I brought enough water for me to drink using my 70 oz platypus - Noni brought two water bottles and
drank them too fast and well Dalhouise has lots of running water along the trail.
the pedometer Noni is using says she has walked 25,000 steps about 12 miles. I don't know how accurate that is but it sure feels about correct.
We seen some amazing scenery - will share some with you...
