I have been sick with a cold for 5 days now. Silly me still trying to workout and not take it easy. Yesterday was my worst day, yet I somehow got 21,000 steps for the day.
I was supposed to drive 2.5 hours away this morning. I just knew I was in no shape to do that alone and then turn around and do it again. So last night I called in sick and lounged and I feel 10x better. I started making chicken noodle soup this morning, always a 2-3 hours process, I used Scott's Grandma's recipe. Then I looked in my book for bread to eat it with. Immediately Roasted GARLIC (great for sickness) potato bread popped out and there I started making that.

I spent most of the day watching this amazing show I discovered on netflix. Well first off I heard this new show on ABC was coming out called Resurrection. I also heard an interview on NPR with the author. He said the premise is based on a dream he had about his mother coming to visit years after she died and they sat down and talked and it seemed so real. I keep having dreams like this, where my dad comes back and it's like he doesn't even have a clue he left. So anyway Resurrection came on ABC on Sunday and YUCK so hokey! A feel good ABC kind of show, even the name makes me more of Jesus' resurrecting and that's really not what the book was about. Anyway so I checked out the French version on Netflix that aired in 2012 and OMG it's soooooo good! Creepy and dark and I love it and I am not a huge fan of subtitles. I had problems falling asleep last night after watching it before bed.

Sunday my mom called me while in the city I live in! She made it in all by herself to go to an antique show, pretty damn cool that is she finally figuring out how to get around alone! So she called me before she was heading home to tell me she was heading home lol She didn't really wanna come over to my house cuz she didn't wanna push her luck. I ran out of the house to feed my pet sitting kitties and came back and my mom was here lol We had a nice time, I took her to the graveyard with the dogs and we walked and took her out for ice cream. It was a nice visit.

What book do you get your bread recipes from? I had dreams like that when my dad first died too. I still have them every once in a while. They don't know they're dead and at first you're happy to see them but then you have to explain why they shouldn't be there. At least that is how my dreams like that always seem to be. I hope you feel better soon!

Ok. First of all, the fact that you can be sick and a) get in your steps (previous blog) and b) not only make a beautiful pot of soup but bake BREAD from scratch...makes me feel like such an underachiever! I do less on a day that I feel great, lol! You're my hero!

Visit from mom sounded fun and relaxing. I'm glad the weather seems to be getting better, too!

I get better faster when I rest when I'm sick. My hubby convinced me of it and it works.

The soup and bread look delicious. I loves things like that when I'm sick.

I wondered what Resurrection would be like. I almost watched it.

I'm so glad your mom is doing better. It sounds like she has turned a corner.

emoticon Sometimes slowing down and taking it easy is better than pushing yourself forward. Yeah to Mom for bursting out of her shell.
