Hiking fun & Poachers!

Tuesday, March 11, 2014

Having some awesome hiking adventures lately. A few snow hikes:

Sangeetha got this shot of my cucumber snacking. One of my hydration tricks eat wet veggies like cucumber & celery.

Ontario peak with " Advanced Hikes"

I hiked with the Weisers of Weisers Family Farms today. We caught some Fennel Poachers stealing fennel from the preserve.

One of the joys of hiking on a "Preserve" is sight, smell and sound. Why do people pick bags full of plants off of a preserve? Tomorrow we will bring children for a tour and the lovely scent of fennel will be compromised thanks to these poachers. I was polite and refrained from a long lecture leaving them at please never remove our plants again- Grrr!

Glad you caught them. Maybe they'll think about that in the future. And your hikes look awesome!

That's terrible that people are stealing from the preserves :( Why do people feel entitled to take whatever they want, regardless of the rules?

It looks and sounds like you got in some great hikes. Your snow hike had more snow than we have right now!!!

What glorious scenery. Shame about the poachers. They do know fennel is available for purchase, or are they poaching to resell, say at a farmer's market? "Grace under fire" should be your middle name. Good idea about the cucumbers!

WOW. I always knew you hike, but something about these photos are just so inspiring. They make me want to hike to see those views! Are you hiking with friends in these photos? A hiking group?

Beautiful areas to hike, not so good though on the poachers.

    Gorgeous hiking spots!

And I think people figure plants are for eating? So it's okay to pick them? I don't know, that's all I can come up with for a possible rationale.

Beautiful photos! I would like to get serious about hiking, but I don't have access to such lovely places. I guess I need more friends with cars!
