Here We Go! : )

Tuesday, March 11, 2014

Try, try again. I think never giving up is the key, everyone slides once in awhile. Besides, who wants to hang out with someone who is perfect all the time? : ) I certainly don't. I would want to accidentally close her head in my trunk. (I actually saw someone do that on accident to someone else!)

I have a ton of excuses, but that's all they are - excuses. Polar vortex and couldn't run outside, took steroids that are weight gaining, but if I'm truthful, I just ate way too much of the wrong things and the first things I mentioned didn't help the situation.

I've packed on 15-20 pounds, ugh. But everyone has to start SOMEWHERE, and better here than when I had packed on 70 pounds - before it gets way too out of control.

The weather is warming up in Chicago and I will be running outside again (YAY!), at least after the snow that is supposed to hit today and tomorrow. (BOO!) Back tracking my foods, exercise, using the Spark Coach which is motivating.

Really, just glad winter is over and getting back to my normal self and routine. I have all year to think of a strategy for next winter in this cold tundra! : )

Love and hugs to everyone!!!

Don't feel bad. I'm working on it too. I had a stroke and spent time in the hospital and then at my son's house and it seemed the only thing I wanted to do was eat. I've been on track with my food for several days now and I am getting better. If I can get back on track, you can too.

  Hi Shelley

Nice to have you back. What is new with my hip.....just waiting to have a consult with the surgeon as I need a new ceramic hip as I have zero cartiledge between the femur head and the bottom of the socket....the stuff that acts as the cushion when you jump, run etc. Still doing my Ironman on June 22 though as I won't have a hip by then but more than likely by the Fall. New strategy for this Ironman...Galloway method of running combined with race walking. I have a friend who can walk a half marathon in 2.5 hours.....so it can be done. I have a half coming up in May but for now am still training....this is the longest month of hours...I have 55 hours for the months of straight cardio. April is using the base I have built in short races plus training moves outdoors and I cannot wait to be swimming and biking outside.

Hope all is well. Keep in touch

Cheryl
