i don't think i've heard that slogan in awhile!
in one of many diet/fitness/nutrition books i've read i read a snack idea that was 2 hardboiled eggs. i also read that you should eat a protein and a carb together to get the biggest reward. with this in mind i always plan to have 2 hardboiled eggs and a fruit for my morning snack. it works great. holds me over til lunch most days. well today i forgot my eggs! eek! i don't do well if i get too hungry between breakfast & lunch. i decided to have my yogurt that was intended for my afternoon snack in the morning. less than a hour later i was hungry and felt a headache coming on. not good! i was able to rummage up a can of fruit cocktail to tide me over until lunch. I know my hunger is going to be all wacky for the rest of the day. at least i have an apple and chopped veggies for my afternoon snack. plus a few clemantines that are my emergency stash.
so, what have i learned?
1. i need a lot of protein in the morning
2. 2 eggs are a perfect snack
3. does no good to prep on sunday if you're just going to forget it at home.
