i don't think i've heard that slogan in awhile!

in one of many diet/fitness/nutrition books i've read i read a snack idea that was 2 hardboiled eggs. i also read that you should eat a protein and a carb together to get the biggest reward. with this in mind i always plan to have 2 hardboiled eggs and a fruit for my morning snack. it works great. holds me over til lunch most days. well today i forgot my eggs! eek! i don't do well if i get too hungry between breakfast & lunch. i decided to have my yogurt that was intended for my afternoon snack in the morning. less than a hour later i was hungry and felt a headache coming on. not good! i was able to rummage up a can of fruit cocktail to tide me over until lunch. I know my hunger is going to be all wacky for the rest of the day. at least i have an apple and chopped veggies for my afternoon snack. plus a few clemantines that are my emergency stash.

so, what have i learned?
1. i need a lot of protein in the morning
2. 2 eggs are a perfect snack
3. does no good to prep on sunday if you're just going to forget it at home.

    I always keep boiled eggs and cooked chicken breasts in the fridge because as everyone has said protein is so important. I also eat soy butter and rice cakes too.

    I'm very big on protein with every snack/meal.. I also keep almonds in the bad and a small jar of peanut butter in the desk drawer and a spoon, just in case!!

    I agree boiled eggs are a great snack. Also V8 juice (which was an acquired taste).

    I started 'tacking a post-it' note on cupboard of things that need to be hauled from the fridge or otherwise and into my lunch-bag so I didn't forget (as I do too) emoticon No fun when we have to scrounge around, ............. I too have to have some protein or the carbs (Like Oatmeal) will burn off soon and leave me out of gas! ......... emoticon ...... I know you can and hey!! I just joined this team--No excuses! ............ Looks pretty active! emoticon

    Protein in the morning, always keeps me satisfied until lunch, or even beyond. So, if you don't eat protein for breakfast, having a protein-snack midmorning makes a lot of sense. Glad you discovered this,
