Arctic Days I hope are in the past

Sunday, March 09, 2014

The cold Arctic front has come and gone. I can not say I enjoyed having it hang around last week. I want spring to arrive and I want it now. Today even with the time change that has messed up our sleeping pattern we went for a hike. First mission was to find a newly publish Geo cache and then to explore some trails. I drive by this area so many times - I have been wanting to go explore but last year Noni was a little afraid to go into here - we have seen bears a couple of times come out of these woods to cross the road. I think Noni forgot.. I didn't - and I am ever minded of the fact this is cougar country. Also I keep receiving post from the local environment society which I am now a member of of a family of Bobcats living not too far from this area. But the sun was out and the temperature is about 14c .

I think Dalhouise is happy that the Arctic front is gone too

Do you have something that jangles on Dalhousie's collar? The only thing worse than encountering a bear or cougar would be taking one by surprise. It looks like the perfect day for getting outside.
