what is motivation?

The last few days I have felt great and have thought I was really motivated to follow my plan. But I have over eaten everyday for the last 3 days. So what is the except meaning of motivation? Is it a feeling or an action? Are you really motivated if it does not translate into results? Why am I having this disconnect?
On the other side of the coin - I have actually been going to bed on time which was a big goal.
My blood sugar is also down to where I want it.
I just feel confused.

    perhaps you are much more active than you were, and so burning more calories and requiring more nutrition, dont give up, motivation and desire to achieve I think are about the same thing

    Try again tomorrow. You may try pausing one second before eating and ask yourself if it is really what you want.

    take it one day at a time and remember to celebrate the little things like your blood sugar being where you want it.
