Day 896... ice
Saturday, March 08, 2014
I am taking mostly short walks today, due to icy conditions. Cooper doesn't seem to be minding much. He will want to walk tomorrow I bet. I thought, with the shorter walks, that today would be a "rest" day, but I have already walked 9 miles, and I will probably walk Cooper another 1-2 miles later tonight, so I will be over 10 miles for the day. I also used the rower today for 30 minutes. That is the first time I have used it since breaking my thumb... which now aches, but it was worth it.
Had lunch with mom and dad. I made baked salmon, roasted root vegetables, beets, sliced yellow pepper and put out baby carrots for the crunch. Mom had made up a sauce for the fish that was sour cream and salsa verde, with other mystery ingredients. It was mild and a nice change from tarter sauce. Mom said the fish was "perfect", and dad really liked the roasted vegetables. I had a bite of a dark chocolate (with bits of candied ginger) brownie for dessert. Everything was yummy!
After lunch mom wanted to go to a book discussion at the library downtown, so I drove her, then crated the dog and went to the grocery store. I only had about 20 minutes, so it was a quick trip. Came home, put away the groceries, leashed the dog and went to pick up mom... who was not ready to leave. Cooper was a good boy and stayed in the car while I went in to the library to see how much longer mom would be. If I tell him "stay" he sits in the passenger seat and waits for me. Drove mom home, then dad drove me and Cooper home.
I bought hair dye last week, maybe I will dye my hair tonight. Time to cover the grey!
