I have arranged to have running buddies tomorrow for my 17 miles!
My one good friend/co-worker that runs with me at work is out of town, but her weekend running buddy wants to run (at my pace) tomorrow! They already had a great 17 mile route (they've trained for 3 marathons)
My other co-worker that actually is signed up to run the marathon with me is also planning to meet up.. he hasn't been as good at getting some of his runs in due to schedule and a calf injury. We ran together yesterday and he said my pace would be perfect for his run.. BUT, we are all learning the route and taking music incase we need to separate.
I'm hoping that a 'feel good' run is just what I need going into these last 4 'long' runs 17, 18, 19, 20.. will help boost my self esteem and motivation to do it on my own. I know I won't have someone to run my pace during the marathon (unless I meet up with some total stranger that we pace each other well.. which is possible).. so I have to learn to turn off the mind and get into the zone..
I've been short on my mid-week running miles.. but have been all along. I hope that the running I do in bootcamp helps make up for 4 of the miles. I missed my 8 mile run on Wednesday.. I just wasn't feeling it, I did about 1.5 mile, some of it on the treadmill trying to get myself motivated to do at least a few miles.. the body and mind said NO! So I listened..
I did an extra 1.75 miles on the way to bootcamp class yesterday and we did a lot of running during class.. stairs and on the field. I didn't make 8 miles, but figure I might be 5-6 miles short for the week's mileage. I'll try to be better next week!
So that is where the training is.. will update on Monday about my 17 mile run!
