In the last three days my life has gone through some swings that are making me dizzy.

On Tuesday night my godsend of a co-worker took me to Red Lobster for a birthday dinner. On top of an amazing lobster dinner, the waitstaff gave me a dish of ice cream with caramel sauce and sang Happy Birthday. The waitress said to make a wish. I looked around and said, "Darn, Bobby Flay STILL isn't here." On Saturday morning I'm taking my coworker and her husband out to breakfast. They've turned out to be such a blessing.

Then came yesterday, and my boss was on a major rampage. She peppered me all afternoon with emails. "Why do you do this?" "What are you doing about that?" "How do you handle the other?" I seriously thought she was going to fire me. Getting ready to go to work this morning I was between wanting to cry and needing to throw up (and luckily didn't do either).

When I got to work this morning I found some papers on my desk. She'd made up a daily task checklist she says I'm do do every day and hand in in the evening. Okay, if she's giving me a daily checklist I guess she's not firing me. Also, her mood did a total 180 and she was cheerful and friendly again.

I have a bit of a headache tonight. Looking forward to Saturday morning and breakfast with my new friends.

At least that coworker is a lovely person, unlike your boss! Perhaps she (the boss) had taken her medication today? I hope her good mood holds out into the new week. Enjoy your men this weekend!

That co-worker of yours sounds like a caring sweetheart...but I'm sure she'd say the same about you. But that boss - !!! - Godzilla on steroids! I'm so sorry you've had to be on the receiving end of her tumultuous mood swings. It sounds like she's barely managing to hold the badly fractured pieces of her life together...! emoticon

Glad you have pleasant co-workers. Is your boss menopausal or bi-polar? Just wondering.

Happy Birthday belatedly! Your co-worker is your angel! Your boss . . . well . . . let's put it this way . . . seems like a emoticon . Glad she turned the mood around, though.

I am glad you had a happy birthday. Sorry about your boss - hang in there, take it a little at a time, and kill her with kindness.

emoticon Yay for such a great friend and emoticon for your boss. People with that kind of mood swings have NO BUSINESS being in management!! Keep your cool - the turn around of her mood shows it was about her, not about you!! Happy Birthday!!

I am glad that you had a nice birthday! Your boss is WEIRD! You already knew that though. Since you know how she carries on at work, try not to let it get to you when she is on one of her 'spells.'

I think that your friend is a very nice, considerate, KEEPER :-)

I don't really know fully what to make of your boss. Up one minute .... down the next..... and plenty of in-between.

What a wonderful birthday surprise! and it's really too bad about your boss. Has any one checked her for bi-polar?
