trying to test a new food each month.. Last month I tried a new hybrid of apple.. Yet another one this month:Pink lady.. I tried sugar snap peas in January and love them.
Low in calories. great crunch and so many vitamins and minerals!
Is there a new thing you have tried and kept it in your diet? Or a new way to prepare a food?
I did buy some lake perch today,, we call them yellow bellies here in Michigan.. A great Friday dinner.

i try lots of different things in/on my salads...left over veggies from the night before, various legumes, salsa, various left overs...
i will also add different things to soup. today i had cambels lentil soup and i added a little left over turkey and mixed veggies.
for crunch, i usually go for apples with walnuts or apples - cut and mixed up with pieces of orange or grapefruit or pineapple...

i love pink lady apples too, they have a nice crunch. i love crunch. i crave crunch especially when i am stressed. today, i got stressed at work and turned to my precut apples with 10 grams of walnuts and it did the trick.

good stuff girl

I have used avocado to make a chocolate pudding. There is a recipe here on Spark for it. It was a really healthy alternative. Also, have made chia pudding. It is a lot like tapioca pudding. Enjoy trying new ways with different foods.

Scallops -- loved them! Shrimp--ugh! Something about the texture.

Jicama-- on occasion

Kiwi--love them when the price is right

I read something online about using avocados on toast; you just scoop out an avocado, smush it up, spread it toast and sprinkle it with a little sea salt. I tried it today and it was really good!

Previously, the only time I've had avocado had been in guacamole or in that 7 layer Mexican dip.
