Quieting that Voice Inside

Main Challenge (30 Points): The psychological Challenge. A huge part of losing weight involves the psychological challenges we face. For example what we say to ourselves makes a huge difference. Many times we find ourselves saying these negative things to ourselves despite our best attempts to stay positive.We may say things such as
"I don't have enough time to......."
"I can't keep motivated due to...."
"I have tried everything to lose weight and it never works..."
These get in the way of our success.

Let’s thwart these issues right now. Pick a psychological issue that gets in the way of your success then Blog about it in two separate parts.

1. Write about it as though it is happening to you right now. Describe your current line of thinking, what you say to yourself, really try to make yourself believe this to be true.

2. Then blog about how it felt to think that way and how you are going to change it.

Here is my sentence:

I have been in a plateau for over two years and I will never get out of it, no matter what I do. This line of thinking runs through my mind a lot. I have lost hope. I think it's Impossible.

So how am I going to change it?

I love the new Spark page and how you can create your own virtual inspiration board. To help change my way of thinking I'm going to look at my Board every day and remind myself of just how far I've come....

I've lost 43 inches....

I've lost 100 lbs...

I went from a couch potato to a marathoner....

I can do this!!

I'm also going to visualize myself at my goal weight and start meditating.

On a physical level I'm going to start strength training (not just talking about doing it) and yoga to help with both strength, stress and body acceptance...

    You say Plateau...I say successfully maintaing a 100-pound weight loss. Just because there's more to go doesn't mean the time spent "stabilizing" is not worthwhile. You've become a marathoner. You've learned to live 100-pounds lighter.

    But now you are ready to move to the next Phase. You CAN and WILL do it...you have a great plan!

    Plateau is a word from the devil! It has to be right???

    You have come so far! BUST the plateau! I know you can do it.

    I am struggling right now with a 7 month plateau and hubby and I have decided to join a gym to jump start some changes. We are holding at a combined 170 pounds lost. I have more to lose!

    With a good attitude, positive outlook and sweaty determination WE CAN DO THIS!

    I love this! You have really come so far. I think we all have that voice in our head. The task is to turn it around and not let the negative voice take over. This is so inspiration! I really need to do this.

    Thanks for reading my blog and I'm glad it helped. I knew that stuff, but reading it now was a different thing, When I think of my dog I think of you and your family too because we're in the same situation there.

    Changing your thoughts is usually the most empowering step towards your success! You have accomplished so much! I know this next phase will be just as wonderful!! You know that most people in your boat would be losing a lot of weight by now....because they would have given up hope and gained back 70 of the 100 pounds and would be re-losing their previous weight again!!!!! You did not do that! You kept going, working, changing, evolving! I am so proud of you and so inspired by you! I hope your body lets you get to the next level because I know you are going to work hard for it- you always do!

    Good for you! These are very positive thoughts!

    I'm a big fan of strength training. It really lifts my spirits (no pun intended) to feel strong. It definitely reinforces positive thinking.
