Collards & Chard. My first time for each.

Wednesday, March 05, 2014

I've come to rely on one green smoothie a day. I started by using spinach, but shortly thereafter, found that my fave grocery store has regular markdowns of collards and chard. They were cheap and green, so I bought them and have been using in smoothies. Love these smoothies so much that I can't go a day without them. My body craves the nutrients.

Am into day 6 of Sansone and have also upped my walks into power walks. It's sunny and warm, so beautiful to challenge myself out there.

Hope all's going well in your corner of the world.

I love how you find ways to make it work for you. Never thought to use collards and chard. My standards for smoothies are spinach and kale. Thanks for making me think about expanding my choices.

I will need to try my smoothies with collards and chard. When I go shopping at the produce store, I will look for them. I crave my smoothies in the morning as well! I don't know if it is the nutrients or that it is so satisfying but I know that each morning I have my green smoothie I feel like I did something good for myself.

That is great that you are eating such healthy greens. My body reacts so well too when I have my doses of broccoli and carrots.

I love green smoothies. I grew kale in my garden last year. I planted one tiny seed packet and harvested a wheel barrow full of kale, which I froze to use in smoothies. Great job with your walks and getting your nutrients.

I used to make fruit smoothies and loved them. Then got away from it. I need to look into the green smoothies! We love veggies and my hubby specifically loves the collards and greens!
Those power walks really burn the calories.... emoticon emoticon emoticon

I have not tried collards or chard. My hubby had tried most greens and he doesn't like chard.

I usually use spinach and kale. I'll have to check out the collards and chard. One other blogger uses heart of palm. Don't have a clue what that is, but I aim to find out.
