A STRONG WOMAN

A STRONG WOMAN

A strong woman works out every day to keep her body in shape —
But a woman of strength looks
deep inside to keep her soul in shape.

A strong woman isn't afraid of anything —
But a woman of strength shows
courage in the midst of her fear.

A strong woman won't let anyone get the best of her —
But a woman of strength gives
the best of herself to everyone.

A strong woman makes mistakes and avoids the same in the future —
But a woman of strength realizes
life's mistakes can also be blessings and capitalizes on them.

A strong woman walks sure footedly —
But a woman of strength knows
when to ask for help.

A strong woman wears the look of confidence on her face —
But a woman of strength wears
an aura of grace.

A strong woman has faith that she is strong enough for the journey —
But a woman of strength has faith
that it is in the journey that she will become strong.

Really great blog. It made me think of my mother who made a life for herself and her family, but then had it ALL taken away by a communist takeover of her country. She left because she was constantly in danger of being imprisoned for speaking out against the government. My uncle was beaten for giving medical treatment to a soldier on the wrong side of the war.

My mother told my dad that she was going to go to the land of the free and take my sister with her (she was the only one born at the time). She was going to leave everything behind, including him if need be, in order to have a chance for freedom.

Both my parents made it to America, never took welfare and used their own money to put themselves through college. My mother died, strong and proud, a few years back.

Thank you for reminding me of her.
