Snow days are for relaxing. Maybe.

Monday, March 03, 2014

Today should have been a lazy day. You know, sitting inside reading, under a blanket, sipping coffee or tea.

Ah but I pulled on my boots and bundled up for the 12F weather to clear off all the snow we had been promised. They were calling for twelve inches. That would be the biggest storm of the year. And we have had many snow events roll through this year.

And Weather Underground says we aren't done yet.

I got suited up before I even looked out the window.

Then I go tout there.

Do you know how it feels when you're promised twelve inches and you only get four?

Well, when it's snow, it feels pretty good.

And it was the fluffy kind on top of a base of ice and sleet. Easy to clear off. and since i am so thorough, I managed to get a good 90 minutes. Then I went in and grabbed a book and a blanket.

At one point, the clouds thinned enough for the sun to peek through. It was still 15F but somehow it felt good. I actually considered the possibility of bringing my trike out for a ride.

Then the moment passed and sanity returned.

Ha! Ha! I'm a little further north and we got just a dusting of what was "promised". Woohoo! Bring on Spring! I saw a Robin yesterday. Yes!
I also heard myself say "It's only going to be around 10 degrees tonight". (What's up with that?)
This made me laugh!

Isn't it amazing when we think 4 inches of snow is barely anything. And 15 degrees is a nice day. LOL. Glad it worked out for you

It must soon - I broke my pinkie a couple weeks back so I am out of commission of shoveling - in the beginning of this year - I was packing in the fitness minutes due to shoveling - I would rather be out running - what can we do - its almost over

I did the same thing. The temps got lower as the day went on. When does that ever happen? It was 4 overnight and all of yesterday's snow is now ice. Aren't we glad we took care of it yesterday when it was fluffy?

Nice when the weather forecasters are wrong in the right direction!

I guess you "dodged a bullet" this time.

Coldest weather I ever experienced was in Iowa. Beats even my experiences in the Upper Peninsula of MI.

We had flurries in NC. Still, I had a fire going and baked in the oven. I love days like today! I was born and raised in Iowa so I'm familiar with your weather.
