I have lost 60 pounds with SparkPeople!

I have lost a total of 60 pounds since I started with SparkPeople in November 2013. I have to say it hasn't been easy but it wasn't impossible -- here is the proof -- I have lost 60 pounds and maintained the loss.

I said early in the process that I wasn't willing to do anything to lose weight that I wasn't willing to keep up the rest of my life. And that was what worked for me. I made a life style change.

I wasn't ever on a diet -- I learned how to make changes that I could live with forever. I loved to walk -- I decided that I would walk at least 10,000 steps a day everyday and that would help me. I think that it made me feel better just being outside and I know it helped me problem solve. I think I will always want my Spark Activity Tracker. I love getting credit for my exercise. I found that it was easy to park further away and make extra trips because I got credit for it. I also discovered that I liked strength training. I am still not crazy about the videos. But that is ok. This is about me.

I did learn that I had to log my food daily. While it is true that I did overeat -- sometimes I actually didn't eat enough. I needed to know the truth about my nutrition that day. The SparkPeople log helped me see what I had too much of and which nutrients I needed. This helped me make better choices.

The articles I read daily gave me more information about nutrition, fitness, and health. The motivation articles always gave me hope and when I needed some extra help, I either went to read or remembered what I had read. I loved reading the blogs and it was so reassuring to see that other people had succeeded.

And last, but certainly not least -- The SparkPeople Community. I am not sure I could have made this journey without my friends and team members. They supported me and I found that they really cared about me and my success. And I found that I also cared about them.

I love emoticons too!

Now back to what I said at the beginning. This hasn't happened yet. But it will. Thank you SparkPeople!
