Fruits AND vegetables, all in the same day!

Sunday, March 02, 2014

First, I gotta give some thanks. We mostly got spared by the storm. We got a couple inches of snow, and may get one more tonight. That's infinitely preferable to the 6+ they were assuring us was on it's way. It seems we didn't get any of the ice they were predicting, either. If so, it fell harmlessly between layers of snow. It's not an icy death pit outside at the moment. So horray!

I didn't attempt to walk, though. As much as I was really in the mood for some fresh air, I'm not the most graceful creature, and just snow is slippery enough for me to end up flat on my butt. So I stayed inside where I was less likely to break a body part. I didn't do any exercise inside, either, unfortunately. It's only now occurring to me that I had the perfect opportunity this afternoon before I woke dh up. I had it on my mind that he would be here all day, and I didn't want to exercise in the living room with him sitting here. Bad excuse, I know. Especially considering I could have done it before I woke him up. But oh well, it's unreasonable to expect that I will workout every single day, so I think it's all good.

Tomorrow is supposed to be bitter cold, and the snow surely isn't going anywhere, so there won't be any walking happening tomorrow either. But I am gonna do some kind of exercise. WATP or a video with Coach Nicole or something. Even if I can only manage a few minutes of it, I'm doing it!

Today has been a nutritional improvement. I had steel cut oatmeal with Splenda and PB for breakfast. Then dh and I made lunch together. It was a Tex Mex Mac'n'Cheese with Ground Turkey and Bell Pepper recipe from Rachael Ray. We are determining we really like Rachael Ray. The recipe was delicious. Unfortunately I ate WAY too much of it, and was then stuffed and miserable. But on the bright side... I had some broccoli and cauliflower as a side dish, so I didn't entirely stuff myself on pasta and ground turkey. Then later I had a turkey and Swiss samich and some Kettle chips. Snack was some fresh strawberries and a banana with cottage cheese. It hasn't been a stellar day, but definitely better than recent days. I guess that's the one upside to the weather keeping me in the house -- I can't get out to get greasy, crappy fast food.

Other than that, it has been a really quiet day. I've been browsing some natural living websites and bookmarking ideas, and saving a few recipes. Not much else. Just dh and I here, relaxing, and playing with the animals. Lazy Sunday. But the thought of losing my disability and having to take a job with irregular hours is never far from my mind, so I've made sure to enjoy the time with dh. That time may soon become very limited.

Now I think I'll curl up with a magazine for a few while dh naps. Hope everyone has had a great weekend and is gearing up to make it a great week!

Sounds like you had a really nice day!! Veggies and fruit!! Way to go!!!!

We are unfortunately getting snow but I don't think as much as much as they initially forecasted. BUT it is supposed to get really really cold and predicted -3 overnight Monday night. Brrrrrrrr!!! It has been quite a while since it was that cold. That may even be a record!!! Indoor exercising for me too. Hubby may be working from home tomorrow.

Younger daughter was home this weekend and we made her leave fairly early today to avoid any bad weather. the temp was in the upper 30s and the precip started as rain but supposed to turn to snow a bit later so she headed home at 2 which is early for her and she did grump about it. She usually stays until after dinner and then takes off for a 2 hour drive back to her apartment.

I am so tired of winter!! Next weekend it is supposed to be in the 50s and I hope the temps stay there!!

have a great night emoticon I worked all day today to get in some work with deadlines for tomorrow and Tuesday. I hope that slows up for a bit soon too!!
