Ides Of March?

Sunday, March 02, 2014

Well March is certainly coming in like a Lion!! Extremely cold windchills. Never seen a number like -65 F before! emoticon emoticon
In spite of it, my brother came over to take Mom and I to see a Movie, Non Stop. I like Liam Neeson and he makes the movie worthwhile. You don't go to an action movie for the cerebral challenge :P
I didn't have popcorn, but I did have a small order of sweet potato fries. Then my brother dropped Mom off and took me to my bank so I could deposit my club expenses check. Then we went for ice cream (yes we are Crazy Canucks!)
I came home to track my misbehaviors and discovered my computer's browser would not connect to the internet in spite of my taskbar showing I had a full connection with a strong signal!. Hours of rebooting and troubleshooting got me nowhere. Very frustrating. I know my computer is way overdue for a formatting, but I need to find my recovery discs first. Not being able to spend much time at my apartment, I haven't had time to look. We are traveling back and forth as little as possible in this cold weather. It means only one shower per week for me.
I am using my stepdad's computer, but only have time in the early morning to use it before he wakes up -he is in here right after he wakes up until he goes to bed, and I am too tired after my infusion to go online after 10 pm, besides which my Mom is using the hide a bed in this room and likes to go to bed early.
I am feeling my aches, cold has never agreed with me, and not getting any fresh air is frustrating. Getting up and down off low chairs and the couch frequently is straining my leg muscles as I cannot use my arm for an assist. My cast is cutting into my hand uncomfortably in spite of the padding, but I am letting my weight hang on it instead of supporting it with cushions like before so that I can give the broken shoulder proper traction is the reason why.
So bad weather is in the news everywhere across both our nations, so wishing everyone who is facing it, please be careful and don't go out in it if you don't have to! Stay safe!
Hugs,
Linda

We had a long winter too but I loved it! Here in central we don't get most of the storms that other parts of the island get - thank goodness! I used my ice grippers a lot.

Linda, Sorry to hear you are having computer problems again. They can be very frustrating when they are not running right.

Glad you are staying positive in all this cold. Hope you are staying warm and the weather breaks soon.

I love sweet potato fries. Glad you enjoyed them and the movie and time spent with your brother.

Prayers for your complete and rapid healing.
    Have a terrific Tuesday.

Yes, crazy weather everywhere, just about anyway. Florida has its ups and downs!
That Non-Stop movie looks good. We went and saw Monument Men and that was really good. Movies are fun to go to when the weather is bad outside. emoticon

I had to go back and re-read your blog because, I admit it, you said "sweet potato fries" and I went to dreamland for a few seconds. emoticon But seriously, I am so frustrated for you. You deserve good health - you work so hard and are so tough-minded. I really hope you get results soon. emoticon

I can relate to the mobility issues. I had another really bad fall and am having trouble changing between sitting and standing...

Hang in there - you know the pendulum will swing. It's just hard to be patient waiting for that to happen...

    WOW terribly cold.

One time when I was having trouble logging on I got a person on e-mail. This is what they told me to do and I have to do it often.

Turn the computer off at the outlet. (I have a power strip and turn it off there)
    Wait 30 seconds.
    Turn it back on
    Wait ten seconds
    Then turn the computer on.
    It usually works.

Sweet Potato Fries sounds very good. I have never eaten any though. Yes the weather in both our Nations is very bad. Looking forward when it is all over with and goes into Warm Sunny Weather. Everyone is looking forward to when that happens. I hope that you are on your way to a complete recovery of your arm and shoulder. How long are these infusions going to last and what are they for? Ice Cream sounds good too. Have a good week. God Blessings Always. Spark On!!!

Mmm, sweet potato fries are so good. Ice cream isn't bad either. I can't imaging -65 degree weather. I don't think I'm tough enough to live in Alaska or Saskatoon. I've always felt like I was misplaced and should be Canadian;) I love Canada and the people.

Our weather has been quite forgiving, only a couple times with a -3. We are expecting a weather mix for March, according to the weather man. When I was a child in the 1950s, we had more severe weather. I remember several feet of snow and lots of wind.

I'm praying for your recovery and continued healing for your shoulder.

    Sleep tight, gf.

If you have a router, make sure the problem isn't there. I can't imagine living in such a cold climate, brrrrrr.

Stay strong, you continue to figure out ways of taking care of yourself. Prayers are coming

Wow! That's cold! We have buds and blossom bursting out all over the place around here, and have barely even seen freezing point all winter. Still waiting for the axe to fall.
