Think I'm Getting Old!

Saturday, March 01, 2014

This month has really tired me out! Seems like I just haven't stopped all month, and yet I don't feel like I've accomplished anything significant.

There have been some routine medical/dental appointments, lots of snow to clear, meals, laundry, shopping... all the usual stuff.

Church has been busy with study groups, book club, all the regular services, ACW and vestry meeting... then minutes to be done. Organizing our Easter/Spring sale and coordinating table rentals.

Wedding plans are ramping up... helping address envelopes, going with DD#3 for gown fittings and hair trial, helping Maid of Honour plan shower. Knowing that there will be extra company, I've been trying to do some extra cleaning ahead and need to make valances for living room windows. Still haven't found my dress.

Today was Area Day, a one-day series of workshops for Trent-Durham, which attracts 250-300 people each year. Left home at 7:15, home by 5. Luckily there were left-overs in the fridge.

Haven't quite managed my 25 miles/week on the treadmill, but have walked over 80 miles this month. ST was good for 2 of the 4 weeks, okay the third, and missing this week.

Oh yeah, we also celebrated Peter's birthday 2 days ago.

I am really tired right now. Reading and distributing chalice tomorrow, so can't take a day off church. Company coming for dinner Monday...

... and so March begins.

You certainly have been busy. What a lot you have packed into your life recently. I think you are coping magnificently and am not surprised you feel tired.

Gail you are extremely busy and booked up with commitments! No wonder you get tired. Perhaps you might try to budget in some relaxing down time where you have nothing scheduled, and try a few yoga relaxation deep breaths. emoticon

  Hi Gail.........
I have to admit to feeling quite exhausted just reading about all of your commitments. Maybe this would be a good time to delegate a few of your responsibilities to others; at least until the wedding is behind you. You don't want to be so tired (or maybe even sick) because you have expended your energy in so many other areas, that you can't enjoy the wedding. I have finally (and it took years) learned to say No so that I am not spread so thin that I end up a mess and no good to anyone.......even myself.
I am sure that you will work it out.

Ah, yes, busy busy busy... that you are!! Isn't it great!! You are so very lucky... how many of your contemporaries could keep up with you... not many I bet. Like I said a few minutes ago... I need to practice saying "NO" but it is so great to be asked and be able to say "YES". Then of course the really exhausting things are those we have no choice about. The "GOT'TAs". I will pray that you find the time you need to do the things you Haft-ta and then some more time to do the things that you wan-na. Those want to's will cheer you up and put that pep back in your step! Yes-sir-ee Bob.
Love and Hugs, Audra

I agree with everyone. You are just much more busy and stressed and it is beginning to get to you. At least until the wedding is done try to cut back a little on other time commitments. I know you enjoy all your community activities but everything in moderation and when extra commitments are on your plate something has to give. Easing off a little on exercise goals is also probably a good idea. I know I am feeling tired with my step commitments. Every day I wake up and think I probably should cut back. However I am stubborn so we will see. Just don't push yourself so hard that you give up. There is nothing wrong with only walking 20 miles a week.

No wonder you feel tired , it is not because you are getting older it is just you have packed so much in. You should be very proud of yourself. You have not sat on the couch watching TV all day moaning how difficult it is to get every thing done you have just done it. Hope you find your wedding outfit soon then you can tick that box. Marching on into mad March emoticon
