Day 59 "Heart Hunger Insteads"
You've already created a list for head hunger management, now its time to do the same for heart hunger appeasement. When you face the pressure of head hunger emotions, activity works best. When it comes to heart hunger, you may want solutions that are more soothing or nurturing, such as a warm bath or a massage.
Look for ways to match heart hunger activities with the type of need you are having. For example, when you feel lonely or sad you may want to listen to music or read a good book. If you are bored, pick up a new hobby or take a class to stimulate your mind. When you make up your list for heart hunger, there may be some overlap with head hunger. Don't worry about that.
You can add to your list, by say, stroking or petting your animal if you have one. Take a warm bath or shower; Garden, paint, write or find an activity that is active; read inspirational books or happy stories; light candles with your favourite fragrances; listen to your favourite music...
-In your journal, create an instead of list that you can draw from instead of eating to fulfill your heart hunger.
-Make several copies of your list, and place them where you can draw from them when necessary.
-Use at least two suggestions today!
Today we had some serious rain, a rainstorm moving this way from Southern California. We need the rain though so I'm not complaining. Its windy and my cat doesn't go for it. Around 530 or so this evening I took the trash & recycle out and picked up the mail while the SO went to get pizza. I made salad while he was gone and when he came in he said the traffic is horrid since most drivers are going too fast for the conditions since it was raining heavily. Surprise, defensive driving is a must here in any conditions. There are a fair amount of potholes that fill up with the rain and create very hazardous conditions when it rains. The rain should be pretty much gone by tomorrow night though.
My allergies are still a bit berserk and it was a good week to go easier with exercise. Starting tomorrow I am going to ease back into regular conditions though. It was nice to take it easy for a week intentionally!
