Kidney Update

Friday, February 28, 2014

So yesterday's meeting with my kidney specialist didn't quite go as planned. Despite good lab results on Wednesday, it looks like my kidney is much too damaged (stage 4 kidney disease) to last , and dialysis and transplant will be in my future. When these will actually take place depends on future blood work but doc wanted to give me a heads up as well as go ahead and get the ball rolling so to be prepared for what lies ahead. Definitely not the news I wanted or prayed to hear but it is what it is.

Taking it day by day and praying!!!!

Praying for you Sallie. Our older daughter Donna had an infection that damaged her kidneys and they do not work well at all--multiple infections/kidney stones. She was advised 10 yrs. ago that might be her future but so far, they are still working enough for her to live. I realize that you only have 1 kidney so that is worse but don't give up the hope. Will continue to pray for you. ((HUGS))
