Planet Fitness, Size 12 Jeans, & Awesome Dinners!

Friday, February 28, 2014

So we went to Ross last night as my jeans are getting too loose for comfort so I went looking around for some jeans. I went into the dressing room with 7 pairs of size 12 jeans and all but one fit me perfectly! I was surprised and happy at the same time because I'm now a 12 in jeans as well as dresses. I ended up picking my favorite 2 jeans and bought those so now I have some jeans that don't give me mashed potato butt and something I don't have to pull up every 5 seconds haha. It feels good to get some new clothes but I'm definitely done clothes shopping for awhile. I'm happy and content with what I have and excited to start selling my old stuff. I posted 3 items so far and will be posting more periodically throughout the next few days. If anyone is interested in any clothes sizes 2x, 3x, 16, 18, 20, 22, or 24 please let me know and I can post pictures/information on items available.

Today is gym day! It's down pouring here so I'm expecting a lot of people at the gym. For those asking if I have other gyms in my area to go to the answer is yes of course but I'm not willing to shovel out $70.00 per month per person... to me that price is ridiculous especially for places with no where to park but street parking risking the possibility of getting ticketed. I currently go to Planet Fitness and for those who are unfamiliar with them they are $10.00 a month for the basic membership, $10.00 a year membership fee, and a $10.00 start up fee and you can cancel at any time without having to fork out extra money to do so. I love the price of our membership and it has it's own huge parking lot. The fact that they are so cheap and in the bay area where there are so many people parking spaces fill up quickly and lines start to form for machines because there are so many people who are members. It's a minor inconvenience for an amazing gym membership price.

Tonight's dinner is a chuck pot roast in the crock pot with garlic, yellow onion, and sliced carrots. I'll be adding cabbage to it later since it doesn't take long for cabbage to cook and I'll be making a side of roasted red potatoes with olive oil, italian seasonings, onions, garlic, pepper, and a touch of salt. I try to limit my salt intake even though I don't have to. I just do so to make things easier. Last night's dinner of stuffed manicotti turned out wonderfully and I have enough stuff to make some more later in the month of March.

Tomorrow morning I have my doctor appointment and the dread has already started to kick in. I'm not looking forward to dealing with the nurse who is assigned to my NP because she always seems to be in a bad mood, is snippy, and often times comes off as cold and rude. No one should have to deal with such a poor attitude especially at a medical facility! The NP wants to go over my blood pressure and figure out a course of action. If that action involves anything to do with shoving pills down my throat I will kindly decline and be on the search for a new medical provider. I've checked my blood pressure several times on my own and each time it's been normal, that should account for something. The NP I have doesn't seem to listen well and instead of saying good job on the weight loss she throws it back in my face and says it's unhealthy. Last I checked 2 pounds lost per week is more than healthy but hey what do I know? I'm just some silly patient who has no medical degree ;)

Nothing feels as good as slipping on a pair of jeans you're not sure will fit and have them fit like a glove :)
    Great job!!!

Wow, sounds like you should get a new doctor or NP. I've also had the problem with my blood pressure being too high when I see my doctor. I think it's because I get nervous when I see her. Do you think that could be a factor for why yours goes up too?

Have a great day, and congrats on size 12!!!

emoticon a size 12!!! emoticon young lady!!! I'm just envisioning your elated state, as I know how I felt when I first stepped into a size 12 pants. It's just way cool!!!

Don't forget to put your navigation system on with my picture, so you can bring all that food to my home.

I was under an NP for 20 years, but then she started getting very rude, telling me to shut up, and said she didn't know the answers to the medical questions I was asking here, I went straight to the Patient Advocacy Office, and requested an MD! I had to prove that she was and is incompetent, and the VA finally gave me to an MD. Come to find out, I wasn't the only person, who requested a change based on the way she treated the other ladies! You're correct, 2 lbs. per week is very good! Lisa, have a wonderful weekend,

    Be blessed,

I am so tired of doctors and specialists and nurse practitioners, I don't want anything to do with any of them right now. Thanks Goodness, I don't have to for a while.

Congrats on that size 12. Good for you. I finally got to a size 10. Never in a million years did I think I could do that. I still have a problem believing it.

The pot roast. Lets see, are you close to Mount Juliet, TN. I will give you my address and you can just bring that right on over! Lol. Enjoy that dinner and again, I am so proud of that size 12 for you. Great.

    emoticon on the jeans.

It definitely sounds like your NP isn't looking out for your health in a good way. Look for another medical provider with a more patient friendly attitude. emoticon
