Mix it up…….

Today I changed up my exercise routine a little in hopes it will help to speed up my metabolism. I spent some time looking at Sparkpeople videos and decided to leave my free weights behind and give resistance bans a try. I did the 7 minute upper body resistance video twice and a 20 minute full body resistance ban video once. I really enjoyed doing something different and I definitely could feel that my muscles were being worked. The advantage of using the resistance bans is that I could vary the amount of resistance I used depending on what exercise I was doing. During the twenty minute video I could also feel my heart rate raise slightly which as an added bonus.

When I finished with the resistance bans I went on to do a 12 minute low impact cardio video. I definitely got a cardio workout with this video, but I probably will keep looking for another choice which will work better for me. The warm up in this video was too intense for me to feel I was getting a warmed up………it was more like starting at full speed. Because of my age, I think it is very important to warm up slowly, and because of my age I definitely warm up slower than when I was younger.

All in all, I'm happy with the change up in my routine. Hmm, wonder what I should try tomorrow!

    I know what you mean about some so the videos starting out to fast, I just try what I can and just keep moving until your warmed up. You just hang in there Linda
