I took the day off from work yesterday to spend time with my mom on her birthday. She and I don't get out together as often as we used to. When we do get out we tend to shop and eat, eat and shop.
Trouble with that is neither of us need a darn thing. So why go shopping? I suggested we do something different and we decided to go hiking at the Santa Rosa Plateau Ecological Reserve.
The reserve includes some historical adobes that were part of the estate of Juan Moreno back in the 1800s. We hiked the 2.2 mile trail in to see the adobes and walked the alternate route back out.
Everyone has to eat, so we went out for tacos after. I enjoyed 2 small tacos and a small order of black beans for a reasonable lunch.
This oak is at least 400 years old.
