prayers needed

Thursday, February 27, 2014

Yesterday my FIL had a massive stroke. He works in an area where he's all alone and they think he must have had the stroke around 1pm. He wasn't found until 3:30pm, by a trucker who stopped to pick up shingles. We rushed over there when it went over the scanner. He was air lifted to one of the bigger hospitals in Cincinnati. Prayers would be greatly appreciated. His name is Randy. Nickname: Rogue. Right now he still can't feel his left arm at all and can barely wiggle his left toes. Can't feel or move his left leg. He CAN talk and it doesn't seem to have affected his speech or memory. So, it was the right side of the brain that was impacted. His mom had a stroke that put her in a wheelchair for the rest of her life and couldn't really talk again. It's scary. We're going back up later today and family has been staying with him. I ask for prayers that he'll be able to use his left leg in time. I think the arm he could handle but not being able to walk would really kill him. He's not really a happy person anyway and we worry that this will just make things a lot worse. It's sad. And, prayers that he won't suffer another stroke. He's still in ICU but is now breathing on his own. It's just a bad situation. Prayers definitely needed. Thank you.

Can't say much more than what has already been done. But I add an Amen to those very Biblicaly worded prayers. In my prayers I add only that he is a believing, faithful child of Gods and that he rely more on God to improve his emotional outlook on life.

I'm sorry I re-read that and it doesn't sound like what I was trying to say. I am so bad at wording since my clinical stroke. I hope you can read between the lines and feel the love and compassion behind my ill worded sentiments.

May God give a determination to go on with service to Him with a positive attitude no matter what life throws at you. Strength to know God will work everything to the best for those who are His.

Have mercy, O loving God, upon Randy who suffered a stroke. Remove the sudden fear that befalls him. Endow him with courage in the struggle to recover what has been lost. Grant him strength and hope to envision new days ahead and a spirit of faith to take the risk of living fully once again.

Dear Lord Please be with our dear sister in Christ her family and particularly Randy her Father-in-law. Lord we know all things are in your hands, we pray that Randy's doctors will be at their optimum skill and care and that healing and hope comes to Randy and this family. In Jesus name we pray, Amen. Hugs to stressful times it becomes easy to NOT take care of yourself....but it's important that you do the best you can.
