Thanks Sparkpeople!

Wednesday, February 26, 2014

I want to take a moment to thank Sparkpeople for motivating me in so many ways. I've only been active a short while, and already I see changes happening for the better. History tells me I'm great at taking care of other individuals, can focus on ONLY my own fitness with some success. But I've always been lacking in community involvement. Not only does Sparkpeople guide and motivate me with my fitness goals, but it puts me in touch with some really awesome people. Through these people I am realizing I CAN make a difference in my community by participating in local events like walks, marches, and hopefully runs. Yes Liz said RUNS!

I've had interest in various runs before, but truth be told I haven't actually tried training for one. I've built enough inspiration and confidence to start training. New goal for me: Run a 5k by the end of the year! This is a sudden inspiration fueled by my original goal of participating in one walk/march a month. So far I have YOSA for April and a March Against Monsanto in May. I really don't know when or if I would have ever had the inspiration to do this without Sparkpeople. LOL. I probably would have taken the registration fees and gone out to dinner, partying, or shopping. This just feels right, and I'll be forever grateful!
