Some of my sparkies asked me about my new pic icon.. It is one of the adult bears from Oswald's Bear ranch in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan . The ranch rescues bears from the entire country and has them here on this remote place in the forest. That pic is from our visit there last summer. HE is a huge bear and the only thing that separated me from him was a chain link fence,, well, two of hem, but one is next to the other.
HE just woke up and came out of his den when the pic was snapped.. We fed him a lot of apples to see him smile at us.

Our vacation begins August 15,, we will be up there near the ranch and Taquamenon Falls for four nights, five days, then come back down over the Mackinac Bridge to Indian River for three nights and four days.. The Shrine in the Woods is a block from the cabin we will stay in and we spend lots of time at Burt Lake too.

I will retire in four years ,,have to wait that long in order to receive MEdicare..
Otherwise, I would retire next year.. but I cannot afford to retire that early now,, Obamacare stopped me from that.. I will just enjoy the times off I get in the summer and joyfully await retirement.. 'Been working since I was ten years old,, I hope I can learn to relax...

I am freezing cold today,, yes, it is back to our temps in the teens, BUT, my workplace is installing a new HVAC unit on the roof, so service workers had the doors and the roof door open all morning!! The area I work in is slightly away from others for about three hours.. I could see my breath all of that time,, no coat or sweater on..

I was so happy to get to my car and drive home.. A hot shower and hot tea felt good for awhile, but I cannot feel my fingers again.. going now to crank that furnace up!!

I am sure your vacation and retirement seem a long way off, but believe me...the time will speed right by. Continue enjoying life as you always day at a time!!!
So sorry you had to work in such cold conditions. Hopefully you are home safely and warm again. Snuggle under those blankets and keep the furnace turned up for a while.
Blessings and hugs,

All Patients have to pay a lot these days. Kaiser Ins. has doubled. Crazy. So much for being affordable. I remember seeing a black bear when I was 7 yrs. at Yellowstone. It stood up and stared at me. I just stood still, so amazed.
Stay by the heater!! emoticon

My daughter's and I saw 2 cubs and their mama bear about 50 yrds away from us when we were in Alaska. They just wanted the food that was by the campfire. They opened up a large rubber container that had marshmallows in it, took handfuls of them and left. The little ones were pretty cute.

I pray your temp at work goes up!
