February Goals

so far are not going too well emoticon

DH and I were going over the calendar last night and I couldn't believe that Saturday is already March! So that means Spring is just around the corner! We've already experienced some spring-like weather this past weekend here in North Georgia (75 degrees!). So that means I really only have about 2-3 weeks before I need to start bringing out the spring clothes. Right now most of my pants will probably be a little tight - so I need to get with it!

Hopefully my weigh in tomorrow won't show another gain. I didn't do too well tracking again over the weekend.

DD#3 had track try-outs on Thursday. I got there a little before 6 and saw her running the 400 meter. There were about 8 girls running in this group and she was probably 5th (she told me later there were several groups before hers). After she ran, she went over to the line for the disc throw. She came to the car after that and seemed pretty upbeat. She said she did pretty good at the hurdles and she said she had fun!

Friday morning I had to get up @ 5:30 to get DD#2 to the school @ 6:30 for 2 on 1's (2 players and 1 coach) for volleyball. Right after work on Friday, I stopped by Subway to get dinner because DD#2 had to eat before I dropped her off at the church to go to her confirmation retreat. By the time I got back home, I was really tired! DD#3 decided to just jump on the trampoline that night instead of running.

I had puppy duty over the weekend, so Friday night I left the puppy in DD#2's room (in her crate) and shut the door! That ended up being a mistake because around 6:30 am on Saturday, DH was nudging me that the puppy was crying (I felt like we had a baby again!). The puppy had soiled her crate (#1 & #2!). That was the first time she had done that and I felt really bad for her. She was so upset! Anyway, I took her outside, cleaned the crate, gave her a bath (she probably had it on her paws, so I didn't want to take a chance) and fed her - all before 7 am!

I spent most of the day Saturday cleaning house, cleaning the screened porch, packing up some stuff in the basement (DH is laying down new laminate this week - it looks great!) and playing with the puppy. My sister came by later that day with her bulldog and DD#3 & friend, puppy and I went to the park with her. The puppy loved the bulldog and actually walked better on the greenway trying to keep up with him (although he's pretty slow!). It was really cute!

She did better Saturday night. I kept her in our room that night. She started whining about 4:30 am and I didn't want to take any chances, so I took her out and then immediately put her back in the crate - she slept until 8:00 am!

Sunday was more working in the basement and playing with puppy. DD#3 and I took her to the park again - we really wore her out!

So I was really busy over the weekend and I got a lot of "activity". Once again I didn't track and made a few bad choices because I was busy and tired (I ate a snack bag of Doritos and I don't even like Doritos!).

DD#3 had track try-outs for the remaining events yesterday. DH picked her up because DD#1 & 2 and I took the puppy (and the cat!) to the vet. That was an experience. The cat absolutely hates the puppy (of course she pretty much just barely tolerates the rest of us!). They both actually did pretty good ! BTW - our cat is overweight - borderline obese!

DD#3 was a little disappointed last night with try-outs. She was really looking forward to the high jump and wanted that to be "her event". She said it was pretty hard and they "called back" several girls to come back today (and she wasn't one of them!). She also tried out for shot put and 200 meter, so she'll find out tomorrow evening if she made the team!

So with only 4 days left in February and a week before the 3/5 weigh in, I have managed to do cardio 3 x a week. I really haven't done anything "different" with exercise. In addition to running/walking at the park, I usually take the puppy out for 5-10 min. walks around the property several times a day (more on weekends). I've been taking her on a 10 min. walk every morning before I leave for work (DD#2 has already left for school) since she'll be in the crate for 4+ hours (depending on DH's work schedule and if DD#1 comes straight home from school - she gets out @ 1:30). But nothing different like work-out DVD's or strength training.

I also don't think I'll loose 4 lbs. by 3/5. I'll be happy with any kind of loss at this point.

I'm not going to stress about this because I've already got enough to stress about! Since the kids missed so much school and don't have enough "make-up" days, the school system is going "full force". DD#1 has "senioritis" and is in jeopardy of loosing her scholarship (Georgia has lottery GPA based scholarships) if she doesn't get her grades up!

DD#2 (who is an honor student that always has straight A's and earned an academic letter her Freshman year) is also struggling. Apparently she missed some online quizzes, etc. and now has some borderline B's. She also got recommended for 4 AP classes next year and National Honor Society & Math Honor Society (plus playing 2 sports), so she has been real "moody" lately and her way to handle stress is to shut down and then explode! I won't even get into "hormonal" 13 year old DD#3!

So I'm just glad I'm exercising and somewhat eating right at this point! Weight Watchers is still keeping me accountable, so I'm going to continue with the meetings, it just might take me a little longer to get to goal! No worries!
