Sick of being sick

Monday, February 24, 2014

I've actually had an upper respitory crud every month since October. What the heck is going on? When I was younger I got flu and colds all the time. Of course I was in school, working and around little kids. Now I stay at home. I just got a van in October but still only drive a couple times a month on my own. Usually Brian,I and the dogs pile in and one of use goes in the store and the other walks the dogs around the parking lot. Anytime I put shoes on they go nutty. Two of the dogs never liked car rides but in this van they are crazy for the ride. Honey has been a riding dog from day one. She rode two hours to my folks house and never laid down or sat. She looks out those windows the entire time. But I digress....
The grand kids spent last Saturday night, went to the movies and a couple stores afterward. Monday I ran into target and Aldi. That was the last time I was around anyone but Brian.
Friday was a good relaxing stormy afternoon. I went to feed the dogs at 6pm and my throat was really scratchy, I took an allergy pill. By 11pm a raging fever and knife stabbing pain in my gut. No vomiting or diarrhea. Fever all day Saturday, somewhat better Sunday and today I'm weak, tired and coughing with congestion.
My husband never gets colds and flu, honest. Could he be a carrier or germs and viruses? He works in different places daily, is in several stores a day and sees the grand kids most days when he picks up their dad for work. That seems to make so much more sense to me, than nearly everytime I go out I catch something? I use hand sanitizer when I come out of every store. At home I wash my hands lots because of the animals and cooking and cleaning.
Interestingly i said today about the time I stopped exercising totally and stopped juicing was October. Of course it's been a very stressful year with the loss of both inlaws and my mom moving away. Brian has been depressed and barely helping around the house. He had cataract surgery on one eye in January and because of an insurance mix up had to switch doctors for the next eye. That has made him unable to see up close and he's going nuts. So that hasn't helped. I really can't afford to keep getting sick, the house goes down the tubes after one day!

I am so sorry to hear you've been sick for so long. Yes, I believe your DH could be the carrier and not getting sick himself. How can you bulk up your immune system?? I take "astralgus" which I heard about on Dr. Oz and buy at Plan It Earth (store). Does it work? I honestly don't know. I've been sick in the years I've taken it but not as much as the years before. On the other hand, I also started about the time I started working part time so maybe I just wasn't exposed as much. Have you been to the doctor? I had a friend who had a cold or sinus problems for four months. She was on at least 6 weeks of antibiotics before she was finally better!

Good luck and take good care of you!
