Why Won't the Gov't Help CA Farmers During the Drought?

Sunday, February 23, 2014

There are some groups I feel the govt spits in their eyes, and farmers are an example of such a group. We've had a drought in CA for four years, and suddenly it's a crisis covered by the news. Farmers in CA provide an estimated 85 percent of some products to the entire country. Yet, due to the govt refusal to help with water, many have said they will either have to close half their acreage and/or watch crops die.

Why refuse this? And why wait 4 years before addressing the problem? Crazy. Yet, we constantly hear of all kinds of wasteful spending going every which way. I don't get it.

Not only do I feel for these hard-working farmers, but also for the consumers who will be spending more and getting produce that has travelled worldwide to get into local stores.

Just another example of an upside down world of changing priorities.

Wishing all a happy,healthy day.

Politicians do as they want and are only concerned with themselves!

I know it is so sad but then I wonder what the catch would be, the government has its claws into everything, and they really do not show me much, It is supposed to rain the end of this week, lets pray that it does, I sure don't want to see flooding, but if we could get some of the snow in the form of rain (and snow in the mountains) that the eastern part of the country has been getting, it would help bunches. I also think that this state should put a moratorium on housing, so we could save a bit of our natural resources. We build in so many places that we should not, our wild animals run in peoples back yards
oh well, I could go on and on.
anyone know a rain dance? emoticon emoticon

Our current government obviously does not believe in helping hard working Americans. It might diminish the amount they could spend on their own pay raises, or paying welfare benefits and social security to illegal aliens who have never paid a penny in U.S. taxes in their lives.

We are all going to be losers if CA can't produce fruits and veggies. While I don't believe we can count on the government for much of anything these days, we can all plant a garden, small or large.

We can continually come up with another group, another person, another disease to say WHY? to. It never ends. Until each individual person says with 100% sincerity, "I want to see this differently", "There MUST be another way".

I am no longer here to save the world, the dolphins, the homeless, etc. I am here to see it all differently.
