The World outside my Window--2

There are two Care Givers at night----Nirmala Bai and Jayashree who both hail form two different Slums.Of these two Nirmala Bai is the more interesting one.A tall slim, fair ,light eyed lady she is frank person who does not hesitate to call a spade a spade. She hails from a tiny village on the Konkani Coast of Maharashtra and has fascinating tales to tell about the various Ghosts that run amok in the Countryside.
She has kept us riveted with the story of a small hillside Fortress where according to legend if one leaves a note requesting help in Money matters, one gets results immediately the next morning. It seems that in one of the hollows beneath the Western wall one finds neatly wrapped packets of money or Jewellery or even top class sets of Pots and Pans laid out neatly in the hollow spot. There has been no news of an Indian Robin Hood robbing the rich to feed the poor-----so I guess it is the Supernatural at work here.
There are various tales of why people veer away from using the paths on the Hillsides at night. She also tells of an encounter with a real Ghost on a fishing trip in the Sea one night. It seems these ladies had gone out to find Mud Crabs and Clams in the evening. They found such rich haul of these that they forgot to come ashore before the Tide flooded the Coastal area--leaving these ladies stuck on a small Atol.Around midnight they saw a figure wading between their Atol and the Sea shore ,searching Crabs and Clams and hauling them into a basket effortlessly. Two women called out t o the figure for help. The Figure hefted the sack it was carrying on to it's shoulder, turned to look at the women who asked for and just simply vanished on the spot in a nano second. Those two women fell down horror struck.By the time help arrived in the form of their husbands rowing out two large Fishing boats, those poor were women trembling and shivering badly.
They needed anExorcist to bring them back to normal the next-----Nirmala Bai said she would go out with those women for nocturnal Fishing jaunts after that!!!

Oh how fascinating Komal. I too am on strict orders not to weight on my badly breoken ankle but my husband is not as entertaining .He generally leaves me with my books and goes downstairs to his television ! Should he fail to get fresh groceries tomorrow my wrath will come down upon him! Sloth like behaviour seems to be his specialty !
