My Little Max

My cat Max spent his first night outside Wednesday. He was never intended to be an outside cat but he would not come in and I could not catch him. He came home the next morning and seemed quite pleased with himself. Thursday he took off again but things did not turn out so well this time. Friday morning he came home limping. Due to the weather we didn't have school (last snow day) and I was able to get him into the vet. I thought perhaps something fell on him or he got hurt falling out of a tree or something. Nope, it looks like something bite him. He got a shot for the injury and I have to give him antibiotics once a day. But he isn't his usual self and it just breaks my heart. Max is a big eater but has eaten very little yesterday and today. If he isn't better tomorrow I'm calling the vet again Monday and taking him back in. He did let me pick him up today and purred for me as I held him. But he keeps going under the china cabinet to lay and I can't coax him out. He only comes out to use the litter box. Please keep your fingers crossed that he gets better soon.

    It's heartbreaking when our fur kids are sick. My cat got bitten, too, and it took her time to get over it, physically and mentally. I hope Max recovers quickly. emoticon

    Here's hoping Max is better soon. Both my cats are indoors/outdoors, so they're used to escaping the outside dangers. But I still worry about them!

    Ok, hon, this is just great! Max is fighting an infection from a bite. He's gotten the medical treatment he needed by the vet. Animals go off by themselves when they aren't feeling well in order to focus on healing. This is a good thing. He's using the box, has enjoyed your affection. Let him do his thing. It might take another couple of days, but I think HE knows better than YOU what he needs right now. Peace and quiet.

    Have some patience and faith in his ability to know what he needs.

    Fritzi has IBS which flares up every so often. When her demeanor changes drastically I know to leave her be. She gets over it in a day. No meds, no vet, no fussing.
