Ben is definitely feeling better, and so am I.

Ben is almost back to his usual self, bouncing off the walls. (In fact, he hasn't had his meds yet today but he's pretty good with focusing. Hmm... I wonder how I can use that information...) He was pretty good yesterday, no recurrences of vomiting, but he fell asleep in the car, which he NEVER does. Still some toilet issues, so I kept him home today because it comes on so suddenly that I don't think he'd have time to get permission to go to the bathroom and then actually GET to the bathroom before things went badly, and I don't want him to be "that kid that pooped his pants in kindergarten". Even if it is because he's sick, nobody remembers that part... they just remember the worst parts.
We got our tax return, so all the stuff we've been putting off is finally getting done. I got my Fitbit, yay!! We went to Target and I found the last violet one they had, which was awesome because Fitbit isn't restocking the violet ones in stores and Target had an exclusive. I would have been ok with the black, but I'm happier with the violet. I also got the extra wristbands as my Valentine's present, and the small fits, which is serendipitous because that was the only size extra wristbands they had. We also got stuff like vitamins and toilet paper and paper towels and a toaster and a CrockPot, and Ben got a HotWheels track set. Which he played with for a bit and is now ignoring in favor of video games. Boys. :P
Speaking of going to Target, our nearest one is 10 miles away (the deprivation!), and the weather yesterday was weird. On the way home, everything was white and gray due to fog and unmelted snow. It was weird, and we made the requisite Silent Hill jokes, but it honestly was a little scary.
And this morning, after I finally got some sleep, which was WONDERFUL, I registered all three of us for the Chicago Color Run and Ben and I for the Foam Glow Run in September (it's in the evening on his birthday, so it's something we can do together and still have his party the next day... his birthday's on a Friday this year). There's still a couple other 5ks I want to register for, but those two had cheaper registration fees today, the Foam Glow in particular. I also ordered me some Wellies (rain boots) so I don't have to worry about my feet getting wet and cold in the coming months, since it looks like we're in for some sloppy, messy weather. I splurged a little and got Kamiks, which I'd only heard of when we got Ben's snow boots at Goodwill, but apparently it's a really good brand. Well, obviously it is, since Ben's been wearing his boots pretty much all winter and they're only now getting worn down a bit on the outsoles.
So, yay! Now I'm off to start dinner for tonight... CrockPot stew!! :D
