Am transitioning from the perpetual
of Phoenix, AZ, where the sky always seems to be blue and the thermometer was topping out slightly above average in the 80's, to the single digit
day here in upstate NY. There's a bit of mental disconnect going on here. The thermometer is climbing but walking in snow with an umbrella??? Seriously???
Quite frankly, it was sheer joy to take daily walks while in AZ- unencumbered by multiple layers of clothing while "duck walking" to stay upright on ice. Spent the rest of my hours as caregiver for my aunt. She just returned home after several falls followed by months of operations and rehab with a new hip. Tedious? yes but rewarding as she made daily progress. Am especially thankful for her tenacity and strength. She turns 89 this coming week
Was pleased to see the scale inched down another pound. But I'm already feeling the return of a tendency to cocoon. Fortunately, I have another trip on the horizon. Ahhhh... the joys of retirement and having family all over the map. Now if winter would just cooperate and quit throwing storms at my next destination...
