Friends Welcome

A personal note: I am taking the first step on an old path. I have had my ups and downs with weight throughout my life. I was diagnosed with Diabetes II , January 2010, I weighed 232 lbs. I now weigh 199. I have had a couple of health crisis including a cancer scare, (I am well) but lost an ovary and feel as if I am now in full menopause. I have constant hot flashes. I deal with mood swings and bouts of depression. I am a follower of Christ (I prefer this term vs, Christian per the definition is so misused). I love the Lord and Jesus Christ the savior of my soul. My faith has really helped me through so many challenges in the past several months. I give God the glory. This is another reason , I feel he is giving me the strength and desire to make the decision to rededicate myself to this path , of a healthier me.
I have three grown children (out of the house)., Two active dogs, and One old man (hubby). I love to paint (watercolor) and other crafts. I enjoy spending time with my (large family) and I love my church .
I happily invite friends with similar interest and goals to work on a healthier life.

Welcome to SP. I love that you have decided you want to make some changes to be healthier. I have a very good friend who is diabetic after having gone through cervical cancer and will be on a cancer combative drug for the rest of her life. When we are together we are constantly looking at the value of foods for carb and sugar contents. I think the tracking here will help you with that and I am wishing you much success with your healthier journey. As a believer and follower of Christ you know that He gives us strength when we call on him. I surrender to his strength for without Him we have none! emoticon emoticon

I'm glad you are well. I'm also in my 40's and I just had both of my ovaries removed at the end of last year, so I understand.

Glad to have another sister in Christ on SP!
