Day 50 & whatever else I can think of~

Day 50 is the Half Way Point! It kinda feels like it as well, but I've learned a lot of good stuff to help out if I ever get naughty!

So Day 50 is "The 10 Minute Solution"

Now that you have done something how will you keep yourself going? How do you sustain your rhythm when the kids are cranky, you are lazy or the weather is bad? To sustain your exercise plan break it down into manageable levels you can handle.

Suppose you are trying to exercise every day but your motivation just isn't there and you are dragging your feet. Make a deal with yourself that you only have to exercise for 10 minutes and then you can quit if you want to. Sometimes you'll feel relieved the 10 minutes is over and you'll stop but a lot of the time you'll keep going. Either way you are successful.

Research shows doing exercise 3 times a day for 10 minutes brings as much benefit to you as doing one thirty minute session. Taking a 10 minute walk or bike ride will give you an energy boost. At the same time it will sharpen your thinking, brighten your eyes and lift your spirits. With time even a small amount of exercise will bring improvement. While 10 minutes of exercise doesn't bring the same benefits as 20-30 minutes or more, it may be the secret to getting you started back toward a consistent exercise plan and that's the point!

TODAY-
-Make a sign that says "10 Minute Solution."
-Post it where you'll see it right before you start to exercise (or decide not to exercise) then choose an activity for today.
-Whether its walking, riding a bike, swimming or playing soccer, do it for 10 minutes. Decide whether to stop or continue. Either way, you have been successful!

Days 41-50 are completed! Days 51-60 are you guessed it EMOTIONAL EATING!:)~
Between Writing Diet and these 100 Days I'll be able to write a paper on emotional eating ha? At least it will be hammered into out brains now~

Today it was very windy but sunny and warm out. I stayed outside for 20 minutes (with my fraidy cat, he doesn't like the wind when its strong) to get my sun in but my allergies came up so I didn't chance any outdoor walking. I knew the wind was coming up yesterday so I decided to skip it today anyhow. Today was strength training day and it's all I had time for really since I was cooking again and so now I am done for a few days from cooking for the brother. I made gumbo, chicken and all this high protein stuff he needed. My mom helped me, or did I help her? We were at it from round 130-6pm. We had chicken salad for dinner and the rest wanted leftovers from the past few days. We needed to get a bunch done yesterday and today since tomorrow we have our hair appointments tomorrow in the afternoon and I can do my Target run since its nearby. I need to get my vitamins, some other necessities and I hate wasting gas so I wanted to wait until tomorrow to run the errands. I'll be back in time to make dinner anyhow so that's good. I preseasoned the chicken and made the pesto so I'll just have to cook the pasta and it'll go together quickly.

Tomorrow I may just do my walking treadmill style because it will be a busy day and do some more elliptical. I did 30 minutes yesterday and my knee screamed just a little so even on easier resistance it was a little too much. You burn the calories on that thing though and I find it pretty fun and I can do 10 minutes at a time without dying. So I do 3 10 minute drills and someday I will get back to a 30 minute peel. I've been not burning the calories as much as I usually do the last 2 weeks but I am in range with my weight and I've been watching my food so I should make it through okay! I'm more grateful I didn't get really ill.

I watched an hour of the Olympics earlier, snore! I just don't have the patience for all the commercials and filler anymore. In women's bobsled we won silver and bronze so that was pretty nice. I was watching the college championship on Jeopardy. Final Jeopardy was Shakespeare. I am horrendous with that subject. Somehow I made it through school and University without ever covering the guy, lucky me ha? I've never had the inclination to study him either.

Okay so Thursday's my favourite day ya! I see my white hair starting to come in again but I still say 5-6 weeks is better than every month. I can deal with it~

    I think the ten minute idea is great. And it sure is better than doing no workouts.
I didn't watch any of these olympics, although I like to. In our house when we are watching tv, we all have our gadgets there with us-ipads,laptop or cell phone. So, that's us when the ads are on-busily entertained.

    I think the 10 minute thing is the best way to spark motivation. I mean who can't spare 10 minutes? I need to get back on a schedule with exercise!

    Glad you got some time with your Mom. I miss mine and understand how she wants to help but it's sometimes more trouble than it's worth. You are a true sweet heart to cook for your brother. He needs to keep his immune system as strong as possible.

I used to struggle with the elliptical and now I go for up to 4 hours when I am preoccupied on my laptop. I use a bungie and keep it anchored so I don't drop it. I made a special mount using an old rug reversed with duck tap that has a non-slip surface so it's not moving. The greatest value of the elliptical is getting an upper and lower body workout as well as low impact.

Thanks for the great advice! I hope your hair does well tomorrow. I do my own and it looks great!

    You're right....you can always do 10 minutes when it's hard to commit 30 - 60 and it works quite well to break up the day. I'm sitting in an airport now and think I'll get up and walk 10 minutes!

    Thank you so much, for the great blog, always so much to ponder on. Yes the 10 minute exercise, is a great incentive, and all that I have managed with not feeling 100%, I know as soon as I can it will increase.

    My dogs don't like the wind either so they hated going in and out today too! Good for you getting all the food prepped up. It makes all the difference. I'm feeling a bit tired of the 100 Days too so glad we're halfway through. I did like these last few days of motivation but certainly ready to move on to something else!!
